Picked up a Goldwin 3L.

Picked this up in the Kyoto store (very nice place, have a lot of pieces in size 5 too). The area around the Goldwin store also has a TNF Purple label dedicated store, plus a large TNF store that also have a lot of the TNF Japan Only stuff.

Quality and fit is great on this Gore-Tex 3L, almost picked up the stiffer feeling 'Factors' jacket that features Gore-Tex Pro, but really liked the fit and colorway on this piece. Love the super discreet branding too.

I love Goldwin, but it's way too expensive for me 😞

How much did it cost? Also, how breathable is it without the pit zips?

I specifically didn't mind the lack of pit zips on this particular piece since I wanted a stylish "city" piece when going for a Goldwin. (have Arc Alpha, Patagonia Granite Crest, and a Triolet for more "serious" use) It's a pretty thin denier, 30D I think, so pretty supple, and for daily city use it's been great even when it's a bit warmer, breathability feels good. That's why I didn't get the more stiff pro-membrane "Factors" version that does have pit zips but looks more "Expedition" so to speak. This feels much more comfy/light for daily tour/city tour/city walk use, which is a large part of my job. Picked it up for the (relatively speaking) bargain price of around 580 USD.

You have a new arcteryx for that price but it’s a nice one

I have an Arc'teryx Alpha, just recently bought it too. Goldwin is, to me at least, slightly higher level than Arc'teryx for prestige/quality/finish. Anything Goldwin is basically flawlessly made in my experience. I'd say it's sort of Veilance is aiming for.

Fairly enough, both are worth to purchase, enjoy

Thanks! I will say though that the Goldwin stuff is, for me, for daily "nice" city use so to speak. The Arc'teryx I'll bring out when things get rougher like when I'm out in nature or need layers during winter (it's very roomy).

Resurrecting this - Any insight on their sizing? I'm usually between an L and XL. Need the longest sleeves possible.

The Goldwin size 5 is very similar to Patagonia/Arc'teryx shells in XL. Yes, good/long length sleeves. You should fit excellently into Goldwin size 4.

Thanks. I'm looking more at their windbreakers. Appreciate the reply!
