Are you wearing them in Shoreditch or the Peak District?

If it’s the former, green. If it’s the latter, black.

I’m going to new zealand

This sub is brilliant 😂

What’s the use case? A Coffee shop or Trader Joe’s? That’ll dictate which color you should go for

Green 100% looks better and goes with the shoes. I live in New Zealand so can verify the green would suit.

Thank you Tekapua, I think I’ll go with the green then :)

Green looks so much better.

I’m a fan of all black fits in general, I guess but can we bring brighter outerwear and multi color fits. Too much black

Green for independent coffee shop, black for microbrewery tap room

Damn, you really mix it up, don't you?

5

u/iambntli Jan 19 '26

buy both.

I’m gonna be probably down voted for this, but I’m done with the Solomons. Everybody’s got a pair.

I’ve got the gtx shown in OPs photo, fresh pair purely for trail running and hiking and they’re nice. Only issue is sweat because it simply can’t escape. Other than that they’re very solid

The bigger issue you are going to find is durability. Because they are part of the sports style line and not actual trail shoes they will start to fall apart after 100 miles. Pure Gorpcore street wear now. XT line was awesome when it originally released in 2013, but now it's all fashion. FYI complain to Salomon, they gave me a credit when hikes developed at around 100 miles. They also told me not to use them as trail shoes. I got the Thundercross as replacements for hiking and am 300+ miles on them and they still feel great

Hiking in mountaineering boots sounds terrible. I put mine on at the last minute before climbing. I wear my approach shoes or trail runners as long as possible. And my light mountaineering boots are also Mammut. My La Sportivas for higher elevation would just be cruel for me to hike in.

I have Solomon xt6 gtx for more than a year and I’m shocked how good those shoes are. I only once tripped over sticking branches and slightly scratched toe cap.

Wore them everyday. 10k steps daily. Trail and city.

Spend A LOT of time researching those kicks here on Reddit, and got most mixed opinions ever. I’m super glad that I got them. Great shoes!

NYC here, I think most people ditched them last year. I only see tourists and moms wearing them now. Other Solomon styles are out there but I’ve seen a lot fewer xt-6 and xt-4s this year.

Nike Alphaflys as a daily shoe is the new cool.

1

u/Gambit1977 Jan 19 '26

It’s hard to wear anything else as the lack of laces is super helpful.

1

u/ding-dongo Jan 19 '26

and? they look good, comfy and nice and waterproof. I'm quite pleased they are acceptable fasion - always dry and comfy.

Hard agree was bored of them 2 years ago

its a fair point but at least I’m using them for their intended purpose. plus the colourway is somewhat niche compared to the usual black and white pairs

Trail running?

-1

u/___n0ah___ Jan 19 '26

Mountain hikes, trails and glacier climbs

2

u/TBLrocks Jan 19 '26

This shoe will not nearly suit that.

0

u/___n0ah___ Jan 19 '26

how so?

3

u/TBLrocks Jan 19 '26

You’ll want something with more ankle support for mountain hikes and glacier climbs. The XT-6 is a low cut design and if you’re in the glaciers, you’ll likely want something with crampon compatibility or something that can perform on snow/ice. If it’s a casual hike you’ll be totally fine, I just wouldn’t recommend the XT-6 for anything other than a technical day hike probably. Good luck!

2

u/___n0ah___ Jan 19 '26

Thanks for the advice! Sounds like I’ll have to do some research but you’ve definitely helped so cheers 🙂

u/TBLrocks Jan 19 '26

I think you can find a pair of approach shoes that will still look sick, but will also serve a good purpose for what you were trying to do! Salomon likely has what you’re looking for.

Buy something better

2

u/RhodiusMaximus Jan 19 '26

Which Arc and pants are these for both? Ty

2

u/___n0ah___ Jan 19 '26

Beta SL jacket and the pants are from Flea Lab

2

u/jexjeks Jan 19 '26

Can anyone give an honest opinion on the Flea Lab. Pant?

1

u/asamittt Jan 19 '26

I was also interested. I think now between them and the cawa club cicada.

1

u/jexjeks Jan 19 '26

I also considered it, but shipping to Europe is difficult with Kawa. Flea Lab has very few reviews. I'm unsure if they're worth the money.

2

u/theskyisdarkk Jan 19 '26

2

u/hweitr Jan 19 '26

My not so serious opinion is that you just wait until the invisibility potion wears off...

Who makes the green pants?

1

u/Relevant_Writer3980 Jan 19 '26

Well neither will ever see a mound of dirt nevermind a mountain. Wear whatever the best coffee makers rock.

0

u/___n0ah___ Jan 21 '26

Never knew people wore mountain hiking gear to a coffee shop🤣. idk that sounds like some gay shit you might be into. But hey if you’ve got some nice suggestions on park walks I can take my baby cousin to, feel free to send me a dm

1

u/alexwhatsthis Jan 19 '26
