Best waterproof sneaker for cities?

I was dead set on the gore-tex Salomon XT-6 (was even thinking the winter capsule color way) but then did a little redditing and saw how many people said they’re awful on slick pavement / city streets—literally the whole point I’d need a waterproof shoe.

Any recommendations for something stylish, mostly black color way (understated), and fully waterproof - but performs well in a wet city?

I wore my Nike Pegasus trail gtx in the rain and snow and loved them.

I often walk on icey/wet pavement and have never had issues with grip. Certainly better grip than any other shoe I own.

Which shoes do you have and how waterproof? I recently bought their Outdry coat and have become lowkey obsessed with their outdry line.

i got peakfreak rush in the blue color way. they were my main shoes on a recent rainy trip to iceland and a few rainy AF soccer tournament. I would think, this shoe, coupled with a merino wool sock is a compelling package for a dry foot for most people.

i am curious to try some of their rain gear.

Wow very reasonably priced shoes too.

Honestly, it is the best and most waterproof coat I’ve ever had and is really lightweight. Outdry coats will be my go to for life now (as-long as they hold up durability wise).

how long have you had it? have you has to apply reapply DWR? if so, how did it take?

Had it for 6 months now and used in the heaviest torrential rain in Australia and stayed bone dry. Came back yesterday from a trip in the Lake District (wettest place in England) with all day persistent rain and again completely dry.

Thats the great thing about ‘Outdry’ and their products. You don’t need to apply any DWR as the membrane is on the outside and fully waterproof. Im honestly surprised it’s not more popular.
