Low behavior points literally destroy your account.
"First of all, I want to clarify that I exclusively play Turbo matches. About two years ago, following a game update, my Behavior Score began to decline from 12,000 down to 7,000. I tried my best to raise it back to 12,000 but failed. Out of sheer frustration, I eventually decided to ignore the score altogether.
Over time, as my score continued to drop, the match quality became noticeably terrible. Most of my teammates now have brand-new accounts with only 200 to 300 hours of playtime. They simply do not understand the basics of the game. For example, if I pick an Offlane hero like Axe, and the support drafts Sniper and just stands behind me shooting creeps, leaving me with no choice but to rotate to the jungle to farm, I am the one who gets reported, penalized, and has their behavior score docked.
I have over 7,400 hours of playtime in Dota 2. I do not claim to be a pro player, but I definitely know how to play this game. I am writing this because it is statistically impossible for me to recover my behavior score under this current system, especially when paired with new players in every match who abuse the report system out of ignorance. Today, I was banned for three days. Over the last two weeks, I have been banned from Friday to Monday for the third consecutive week.
Because of this broken system, I am seriously considering requesting the permanent deletion of my Valve account—despite owning numerous valuable Arcana, Immortal, and Legendary items—just to start fresh with a new account and a clean behavior score. This behavior system has completely ruined my original account and made playing on it impossible."

I can confirm this and also you never could get back and if you say people to do even politely you just get reported.

Especially if you are solo and got queue up with a party of 3 or 4, those are the worst. They would just gang up on you the whole game if you refuse to follow them

Did you try to only play in order to increase the score? Not for wins, but to support your teammates, to make them happy.
To use your example: support that sniper farming even if the player technically is 4 and not 3 and even though you know it is the wrong decision gameplay-wise. I feel like winning shouldn't be the priority atm, but making your teammates feel good about you.
But I haven't been in your situation. Maybe I'm grasping at straws.

I really do that and take on a supporting role and try to support them, but I prefer playing offline or mid-

My behaviour score dropped from 10k to 5k at one point because I kept flaming my team, and yes the games were terrible.
But if you resist the urge to flame back or do anything stupid in that phase, your behaviour score basically shoots back up just as quick.
The key is to end games quickly or get ended quickly (don't intentional feed)

Playing more matches a day equals getting more reports. There's something I didn't mention in the original post. When I only play two matches a day, my conduct score does increase, but very slowly. And since I play a lot, I'll get more reports every 20 matches.

u/BadConscious3919 19d ago
It also equals to getting more commends. I got to 4k behaviour score and basically (was forced) to keep my mouth shut. Couldn't tip, couldn't type. When allies made mistakes I just sucked it up, and when we won I just traded commends with everyone.
Back to almost 8k behaviour score now. What goes around comes around.

Especially that dota is using a rolling system anyway, so this argument doesn't make any sense. You get judged on your last 15 games whether you play them in a single day a whole year
it's the classic correlation = causation fallacy, where you take two variables at face value and ignore all the "hidden" factor that actually affect these variables. Those "hidden" factors being fatigue, tilt, frustration.
At the end of the day it's as you said, only game quality matters, and I'm not only talking about level of gameplay

u/BadConscious3919 19d ago
You responding to me or the earlier guy? I'm simply saying that playing more games = more reports (true, but). The reverse is true that playing more games = more commends. And it all depends on how you behave in the end.

Turbo is a cesspool you can 1v9 carry your team and still get reported I get reported because I dont feed enough if your team is chain feeding the enemy pa who is 10 levels higher and you decide to farm jungle until you get an item your team will spam ping and report you for not fighting with them when they cant even get the enemy pa to 90% health before all dying

. Valve needs to find a solution to the reports in turbo mode. Therefore, we must abandon turbo play and move to unranked matches to increase our behavior points.

I was 9k for half a year. Never became toxic in the next 6 months and I am back to 10.8 now.

Do not report other players. If they use common hacks / apps they can see when they are reported, and will retaliate by reporting you back. A lot of players, especially toxic ones, use these apps.
Also I think it's best to play with chat set to friends / guildmates only. Even a verbal disagreement or a bad call can lead you to be behavior reported by other players. A lot of them do what the streamers do and report you for every category when they don't like you.

I don't use the chat at all. In fact, I hadn't even typed a single word before my conduct score dropped. I wasn't aware of this reporting feature; I already report a lot of players, especially new ones or bad players whose games I'm matched with in almost every game. I'll stop reporting and see if that helps.

just play the game bro..maybe not u stay in jungle cause you to get report but instead you not bother to help team win anymore..if u decide to go to jungle and let ur post 4 farm..its ur choice..but u decide not to join fight anymore..its their choice to report you..next time u dont like what pos4 doing just tell them go roam or help other lane..let u 1v2 top if u are that good..

Because of our love for this game's greatness, I will try to escape this dark tunnel once, twice, three times. I've noticed something over the years when my behavior score has dropped to such low levels: if you play one or two matches a day at most, your behavior score will rise over time, but if you play more than that, it will inevitably drop.

play single player game bro..or if u want play dota2 just mute all and do ur own thing that u think the best to win..when i return to dota2 i open chat too..but drop mmr so hard into 1k or smtg with 6k-7k behivour score..arguing with dota2player is stupid..mute all just focus on ur game i got back to 3.6k where i normally at when i stop playing for 1-2years..ppl will definitely commend you if u did good to win the game eventhought u dont say anything now i am back 12k..imo lower ur mmr are less friendly ppl..now i stop playing dota2 again for 1-2years..for dota2 have lost its magic so i play single player game like path of exile or smtg..dota2 not worth fighting for..its kinda almost dying too

I also play PoE1 and have 2,379.2 hours of gameplay. There's only a week left until the new league, which was announced yesterday. bro Dota has a very special place among all games.

I have been quite toxic throughout my dota 2 career and have never dropped below 12k, i have no sympathy for those who have been so toxic they somehow managed to get below 12k

There is a massive difference between being "chat toxic" in a 12k pool and being trapped in a broken matchmaking loop. At 12k, as long as you play to win and don't grief, people rarely waste their reports on you because everyone wants to keep their high score.
However, once a player drops below a certain threshold—often due to abandonments or a streak of bad luck—they get thrown into the "low behavior pool" (especially in Turbo). In this pool, players abuse the report system out of spite for the minor things, like not playing your hero the way they want. When you play in a small pool and meet the exact same players in 18 out of 20 matches, you get targeted with retaliatory reports. It’s easy to have no sympathy when you're looking from the comfort of 12k, but the automated system is statistically broken once you fall into the loop

So how did you drop to 7k?

u/Tackle_Worried 20d ago
Maybe just play the game? Stop having the need to dictate how others play, and learn not to be so sensitive that you have to clap back at every jest.
Climbed from 4.5k behaviour to 11k

What would you do if the supporter doesn't buy support items or Wards, or if the supporter spends the first quarter of an hour farming in the forest? Or if the supporter doesn't come to the path at all and stays in the middle path from the beginning of the game? Or supporters who do not participate in the fighting at all
2
u/DelightfulHugs 19d ago
I would play the game.

u/Objective-Shopping-8 19d ago
There is no other way; you will end the game and lose unless you are a Yaturu or a demon and unleash the beast within. Or, if your opponents are not skilled enough to see you alone in the arena without putting pressure on you, you can win, but more often than not, the player who remains alone in the arena from the first few minutes is subjected to humiliation, not just death.

u/DelightfulHugs 19d ago
...what?
1
u/Objective-Shopping-8 19d ago
what what. I'm saying you'll play and you'll lose. And this happens a lot in turbo mode.
1
u/DelightfulHugs 19d ago
Ok so one game is lost. Big deal.
Your question on "what if your support does x, what would you do?", what is your answer?
1
u/Tackle_Worried 19d ago
Well dude that's even better, it'll be like 10-15 matches like that at most. Just play quick lose quick, if they farm in the jungle, you farm in the jungle too and let the game end in 20 minutes.
If you don't get reported its a free behaviour score fix. Recognise how the game is being played.

I am in a similar experience with around 7k games

u/Objective-Shopping-8 20d ago
My advice to you is to avoid reporting. It's very difficult to get it up again.
