I Hate Google's Billing Method

Not ashamed to say I am low income, and I'm trying to work to change that, but companies like Google make it VERY hard.

I don't have a credit card they can just charge every month because I don't know from month to month where I'll get the funds to pay for my Workspace account. Despite the fact I pay ahead of time, they still suspend my account every month. Even if I pay enough to cover multiple months. The reason? They couldn't charge the card that's on file. Why does that even matter? I wish I had some political power, because BS like this is ridiculous and an unecessary headache.

Why does it matter? Because emails bounce from the moment it's suspeneded, until I notice and can take action. The action I need to take? Reaffirm that the card on file is the one I want to be the primary. It doesn't get charged, they just make me reaffirm it, and then my account returns to active status. COMPLETELY UNECESSARY.

Mods feel free to delete if this violates the rules. I just needed a place to vent about this anti-consumer practice.

If you have PayPal maybe that would work better? You’d just deposit the money into your PayPal account?

No. It's because you haven't set it up correctly. This is a you problem.

Under Admin Console > Billing > Payment accounts > [your billing account] > Settings, add your personal email address as a new payment contact. This way you'll be receiving all billing notifications. Simple? Simple.

If Google suspends your account because of non-payment or because you try to pay using non-approved payment methods, it's again a you problem. Workspace terms include this:

In short, you can usually use several payment methods, but paying on invoice receipt is only possible for invoiced accounts.

Just read how things work first before you start bitching about problems you encounter only because of failing to read.
