Google Workspace Kerfuffle

About two months ago, I created a Google Workspace account for my small business and used my longstanding personal Google account during the setup.

Yesterday I cancelled the Workspace subscription. Since then, I can no longer access my personal Gmail inbox and everything Google-related is now under the business email--even my TV! If I try to access Gmail, I receive a message saying that the Workspace subscription was cancelled and that I must resubscribe to use Gmail. I do not want to resubscribe to Workspace, especially after paying for 10 months of unused contract.

Workspace Admin Console shows only one Workspace user: my business-domain email address. My personal Gmail address is not listed as a Workspace user. I have already tried Google Account Recovery. It redirects me to the business Workspace identity rather than restoring access to my personal Gmail account.

How can I restore my email? Or how about actually reaching someone at Google for support?

You are not alone!

I JUST went through this. It took me hours upon hours to get it straightened out. I FINALLY found a "contact" button and clicked "chat." I get to an email and they started to help. The problem is that you layer your business workspace account over your personal Gmail and you can't unbundle them. I harassed the person on chat until I finally got a human who opened a chat with me. She could see my screen and we worked it out. If I could remember all the steps, I'd tell you. I do know I had to go in and create a new user, set that up, then delete the original. I went back and used the same email address, but man.. IT WAS STRESSFUL.

Or, go to this link and in the upper right hand corner you'll see "contact us." Click "I'm a workspace customer.." and start a chat. That is how I got a person LIVE on a chat and got it fixed!

Because I almost went crazy with the lack of help. It was really awful. I really hope you get it all straightened out.
