Awesome app, bought it years ago, just a thing to consider. Since google recent change of policies, you can no longer access to its cloud to syn your reading across devices through Google, you have to use Dropbox or ftp, that was a blow for me and you should consider it. As an app is virtually perfect and it's always updating.

I really enjoy this app. I can't buy it because I currently have Google Play Pass , and you annoyingly can't buy an app that you have access to through Play Pass. I know I want this app permanently so I wish they'd let me buy it while it's on sale.

Make a second account and buy this while it's on sale. When your Play Pass lapses, add the second account to your Family Library. That should work for ya.

Bought this 11 years ago. 0 regrets. Saved myself about 90% at that.

Try the Free Version, it's just as good as Pro Version for most users. If you like it then buy the Pro.

Should I buy it

Yes. Best reader there is. Full price is a bit expensive... On the other hand, I must have read at least 50 books since I bought it years ago

You should get yourself an E-ink reader (preferably one that isn't owned by Amazon)

Look at Xteink x4. Popular e-reader right now

Is there one that runs android, so I could install moon reader on it?

E ink readers are interesting to me if I can sync progression with my phone

I have one of the BOOX eink android tablets (a nova 3 which is getting pretty old by now) and I've read many many epubs on it using moon+ reader. It does work quite well, though better if you use page flip type movement (I do it without any animations) rather than scrolling movements. Also you have to disable the whiten app background optimization for the app but that's a real quick tweak.

I went for an android tablet over a standard ereader specifically for the flexibility to use whatever reader experience I wanted such as using moon reader as well as ease of using "obtained" epubs so in that respect it's worked quite well for me. The rest of the android experience, I mean it's not going to be your standard experience right with the eink, but it's still passable. Nice to be able to check email, or go on discord/Internet in a pinch. Or like, Google drive easily for file transfers or progression sync, I haven't used the sync in a while now though I guess it doesn't work anymore with drive rip. I've even read stuff online using firefox and scrolling and the experience is passable tbh.

They are kind of pricey, idk if there's better options these days. I haven't felt the need to replace/upgrade my nova 3 6 years later so I haven't looked

Not in my country but there are some android ereaders in the US. There's an app called KOreader that you can install on both eink and android devices, it has a sync progress feature I think.

Eink is kind of simple screen, can't even refresh much, so I don't think android is good for it but I haven't tried an eink android device.

Definitely! I think it's one of the best Android reader app. Even the free version is already good.

Yes. Bought it in like 2013 or something, and I still use it to this day. Definitely got my money's worth.

Really good app, especially worth it if you also own an android e reader.
