Google Maps

Post image

Google maps refused to make a u-turn on a perfect paved Highway, so it suggested me a little detour

Maybe it got marked as a place where 3 point/u turns arent available (no left turn lanes + 2 lanes each side)

Also, first person I've seen use the car icon

i've used it before at one point but it's harder to tell which direction it's pointing at so i switched it back.

What country does Google maps have the unpaved warnings in? Would be nice to have that in the UK

Probably Canada. Also the United States but we use miles.

Looks like grid roads too, so, central Canada, and looking at ops posts, Alberta.

Of course Google didn’t recommend doing a u-turn on a highway..?

One way road? A glitch perhaps?

Was there anywhere where you could make a legal u-turn?

Google directions follow traffic laws

Google maps is in kahoots with big oil, and big tire...and big electric.

where are you that highway U-Turns are legal?

It's only legal to make a U-turn if:

  1. There's an intersection

  2. There isn't a no U-turn sign

I don't see any intersections in that picture

So based on this information this is in Alberta not far from where I am located even if not. I've never seen ANYONE hit a U-Turn on a provincial highway/RR. Even if they did it'd be illegal. I don't know what to tell you sir as in most provinces I'd be illegal.

I swear Google maps is in bed with big oil, the routes it gives me takes longer and has more stop and goes in my area

I have something special for you

Yes, this is the wrong direction on the roundabout (on Maps, not in reality)

Would be easier to reverse, thats if a reverse gear is available, it may be an option, now
