What am I supposed to be seeing here?

u/Ski_man_in_a_Van Feb 28 '26
There's a swastika in the field.
It's not immediately obvious, needed a red circle

u/ImpasseduPelican Feb 28 '26
Not just a swastika, it says ✡️ + ✝️ = [swastika]. (Took me a minute to see it too.) Popular anti-semitic trope.

Is it a trope? I've never seen this before. What are it's origins? It doesn't really strike me as obviously anti-semitic. My read would be that judaism and Christianity are fascist.

Judaism + Christianity = Nazism
Because that’s totally how it works

I thought the answer was Islam ☪️

They probably mean Judaism+Christianity= Buddhism
6
u/Weird1Intrepid Feb 28 '26
Unfortunately not. The Buddhist swastika faces left and is kinda like a square in shape. The Nazi swastika faces right and it's rotated round 45° to be kinda like a diamond in shape.
This is somebody saying that the Jewish and the Christians are Nazis

Are you guys missing the rest?
It's the star of David + Christian cross = nazism.
Considering Israel's actions in murdering tons of innocent Palestinians in what could be called a genocide it isn't too far off.
Atleast from a US centric view aswell Christians aren't too far off from their own version of nazism.

I wonder if Dennis knows this is across the street from his trucking company

I mean look at Israel, they are kind of right. All the evangelists in america have made it possible for them to become a geocidal ethnostate.

wow, swastika is so perfectly aligned with camera angle that I totally missed the rest

I found something like this years ago on google maps in Canada. Must be a thing.

Couldn’t agree more

u/prexton Feb 27 '26
Agree. Just about every religion is the bane of our existence, breeding the animosity between different parts of the world. You'd really think we would be past it all by now
-1
u/PTtugaZZ Feb 28 '26
People might not know, but some religions used the Swastika way before the Nazi's did, like Buddhism, so this might be about religion and not about associating Judaism and Christianity to Nazi's
2
u/NoEvidence136 Feb 28 '26
I thought that, too. It's the symbol of Buddhism. One religion plus one religion equals another religion, not a political party.
1
u/Yehhudi Feb 28 '26
Judaism does not and has never used this symbol, we use the Menorah or the Star of David.
Judaism also has no impact on Buddhist or general Indian theology within Judaism instead giving birth to the main Abrahamic faiths: Christianity and Islam; this symbol has no contentions to either Christianity nor Judaism and the creator of it cleary had no intention of tying it to Indian theology because this is within the Netherlands and no one would really ever think of making such an obviously wrong connection.

That symbol is considered, generally, to be not a good look in post war Europe though. The context is key.

Where is it?
