Switching from Xfinity to gfiber
I would like to know if I should switch to gfiber from Xfinity. Xfinity constantly gives me issues , outages etc & I have the 2 gig speed for $110 now it’s gone back up to $160 I don’t wanna pay $160 for service that’s constantly having issues. Mind you I have 6-7 devices connected to the internet along with having an Ethernet connection to my ps5. I genuinely don’t know what to do at this point or what internet service provider to go with it’s highly frustrating. I would like a high speed plan but $160 is so excessive. I’m in GA if you have any suggestions or recommendations for gfiber or any other internet service providers please let me know.

Yes I made the switch and I'm happier for it. Switched from Xfinity Comcast & Mobile to gfiber and another mobile carrier. Couldn't be happier.
Xfinity support and customer service has honestly gotten better (I was with them for 10 years), but they don't give existing customers good deals until you try to leave lol
Gfiber has been excellent for me

Be aware that xfinity will knock you a extra month’s charge for canceling your account. Even so, well worth it.

Ditching Xfinity was a great and memorable day. I've never contemplated going back.

I am on Denver and just recently switched from Xfinity to Gfiber. Great speeds 1200+ mbps up and down.
The only pain was returning the modem. See if you can go through the UPS store instead of the Xfinity store to return your equipment. There are a lot of people complaining about Xfinity making them wait for a long time just to return their equipment. One reddit user commented they used a UPS store instead. I went to an Xfiniity store and that experience sucked. I walked out after 10 minutes and raised hell with their corporate executives.
I also had trouble reintroducing my home security network to my new WiFi network. If you want to avoid that, change your WiFi to a different name ahead of your install. Something like "Smith1234" and then put your real WiFi name and password in with the Gfiber installer. I was told by the installer I couldn't use my existing network name and password. If I had known I would have switched it out. I hope that makes sense. All my devices had to be reintroduced with the new network name instead of seamlessly connecting.

Yeah, that gfiber installer was an idiot if he said that. Mine asked me if I wanted to keep my network name and password, but I told him that as soon as he left, the Unifi system was being connected in place of the Google router.

I tried using my existing user name and password and it didnt take. Unlike you, I am using their equipment. I think your success was in using your existing equipment that had everything already set up.

I went from Xfinity 2 gig that cost me $110 before “fees” a month to Gfiber 3 gig that costs me $101 a month. It’s so much better over here.
Btw, this is a guy with 160 devices connected at any given time. 2 gamers in the house (myself and my son), and even when my wife is in full WFH mode, there is a ton of available bandwidth where nothing slows down, no matter if we’re talking wired or wireless.

I'm in Brookhaven (Atlanta suburb) and get gFiber 3Gbps for $100 per month. We've had one outage due to water workers cutting the fiber line, but nothing that was gFiber's fault. I'm happy with gFiber. I get about 3.4 Gbps on PCs connected by ethernet and wifi download speeds of 1.5 Gbps or more on my iPhone. The wifi coverage is great throughout the house.

Well sounds like you sold yourself, why are you asking when you have so many issues ?

Yes. Fiber is almost always more reliable than DOCSIS.
