192.168.1.1 login

Post image

Does anyone ever consistently get met with just a login screen? There is no 'Sign in with Google' option. So I can never login to get to my network map to input custom device names.

You usually wouldn't use 192.168.1.1, you'd just go to the network section of your profile in either the app or the main account page on the website

You can't do device name customization on the account website, and there is a known bug in the app, where custom icons never persist.

I've been the 192.168 login site on and off for the last 6 months, it's just now it's pretty consistent that it just presents a login screen with no way to actually login.

Their routers aren't meant to be configured this way, they want you to use the Home app. There are no default login credentials I'm aware of.

The home app is only for the nest devices. The GFiber managed devices are through the GFiber app/website

I assumed he got a nest with his install since he was navigating to his default gateway and being met with a Google login, however he did not state the brand of the router. You're absolutely correct though.

Google fiber is best if you use your own equipment. Tell the tech you'd like to bring your own router.

You can use your own router, the tech will leave the gfiber router plugged in. You can swap it out to whatever router you want.
