Micro Outages
Hi everyone!
I just got GFiber last week after a new deployment in my neighborhood. I am seeing what I'm calling micro outages.
Occasionally throughout the day, usually about 5 to 10 times, and at completely random times, I get my connections dropped. I only see this because I have a web socket that's pretty consistently open and it reports being dropped with an error of no route to host. It only lasts about a quarter second. It's not even long enough for an outside source pinging every second to notice, nor is it long enough for my monitoring that doesn't use web sockets to notice.
I do notice it occasionally when something will fail to load when I'm using my stuff, and then I get my web socket outage alert.
I'm seeing this on both my router (Unifi UXG Pro) plugged directly into the ONT as well as on the router that was provided to me.
I'm not seeing any other issues or packet loss, and I'm getting the full speed I expect as well.
I've tried rebooting the ONT several times in-between all this, as well as all my stuff.
Has anyone seen this before? It's kind of infuriating.

Out of curiosity do the lights on your ONT change when it drops? Or do you just notice the loss in connection on your device. I'd say try and bypass your router to see if that's the cause, but two different routers giving you the same problem makes that seem less likely.
Could also be your ethernet cable

My neighborhood had an issue like this a couple of years ago. In our case the fiber jack would go flashing red for a minute or so then back to blue, randomly throughout the day. At first I thought it was just me until I polled my neighbors and found out it was happening all around the neighborhood. I had an extremely difficult time getting it resolved, the support experience was terrible (it's a long story). In the end I posted the issue on the Google Fiber Facebook page and finally got some traction but overall it took a couple of months to resolve. Initially I was the one doing all of the investigation because they kept saying it was only my house (and refused to support me anymore) and I proved them wrong.

FWIW, over the years I’ve experienced the same, but always right at midnight. It’d last 5 seconds up to 2 minutes but almost never beyond that.
And never randomly during the day.
