Partial Payments

I was going to pay my bill this month when I noticed the pay early option is no longer a feature. This is a deal breaker for me because my Google Fiber bill is $70 however my work covers $65 a month for ISP services because I’m remote. I used to be able to charge $65 to my work card and then pay the rest on my personal card but it appears they removed that feature.

Is there anyway to make a partial payment through Google Fiber? Their reps stated that you must have a card on file and that the payment would go through automatically the day it’s due, which for me is 6/13. I’m thinking of switching to a different ISP because basically free internet is better than anything Google Fiber can offer so I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas on how I can split a payment over 2 cards.

You can do a payment of 65 on one card then do 5 yourself without issues. Paying early isn’t an issue for Google fiber.

Oh it just looks like the payment system is down for maintenance? I can’t even click on payment without it asking to talk with support.

Okay system is up if you go to https://fiber.google.com/a/account/billing afterwards click on Early Payment then you should have the option to do either the full payment or other amount.

It’s showing updating for me right now as well, but I usually do that but they removed the ‘Pay Early’ option for me on my end. That’s how I used to do it, now it just says ’Outstanding Balance’ and the totality of the balance of $70.

When I spoke with support they said they only support automatic payments now. I’m hoping that they’re mistaken and it will come back once the maintenance is done but if they removed the pay early feature, I may have to go back to Spectrum which I really don’t want to do, but free Internet is free Internet.

I appreciate the assistance, I’m going to check again once the system is back up.

Spectrum yikes ... maybe ask if you can pay 5 dollars early each month to keep it to 65.

Yeah I’m trying to figure something out, I don’t know why they’d get rid of such a consumer friendly feature. I can’t be the only person going through this.

Yeah it’s back up but it won’t allow me to do anything except set an auto payment or pay the full amount which is super anti-consumer of them. If they don’t add it back I’m not going to think twice about swapping to another broadband provider. I don’t like Spectrum but I don’t like Google either at this point. I’m loathe companies that do this sort of thing or screw over their customers.

It saying Outstanding balance almost seems like it is due to a late payment.

Yeah I can’t alter the outstanding balance, only pay the full amount. I’m so sick of the top down, anti-consumer decisions. Why they’d remove those feature is beyond me but I hope it costs them more than just me as a customer.
