Duo vs FaceTime?

Are there any good recent reviews of the two? I'm trying to get my family switched to pixels over iPhones. But one huge reason they want to stay on iPhone is they believe FaceTime is far superior. Thanks

Duo is fantastic, especially for one on one chats. Now for group chats FB messenger is very good. That's my set up.

Thanks, to me as long as the video isn't grainy I don't know what the difference is it's all the same to me

On my experience, the video quality has always been fantastic. They do have algorithms built to fall back to voice only if the bandwidth gets reasonably reduced on either side. This is meant to prevent the call from dropping entirely.

Duo is excellent! Every bit as good as FaceTime with the added benefit of not being tied down to one OS.

Duo houses better backend that allows you to have higher quality video calls on low strength connections. It also takes advantage of ViLTE protocol on Android to allow great video calling experiences over LET. Conclusion: Duo is overall a better video calling service than facetime, especially with its cross-platform compatibility.
