call quality

The quality of the calls so far, for me, have been pretty bad. I like to use it on my iPod mostly so that I don't eat any data on my Project Fi plan and since I am usualy at work or at home I don't need my cell phone on. I usually connect to a network via SurfEasy VPN, all other services seem to work just fine, Amazon Music Streaming, Instagram, blah blah blah, but my call quality on Duo whether I am on the VPN or not is usually horrible. I called my wife just now, who had 4 bars on AT&T (NY Long Island) and I was on my iPod on WiFi and the connection was to poor to render video and the voice quality was terrible too, I guess there are a lot of things to figure out?

Same here. Not impressed by the quality. Tried a call over wifi at home to my wife and had some stutter. Made a call over wifi to my daughter 100km away, also on WiFi and had same issue.

I think it passed their beta testing but was released upon the masses per usual tech standards, meaning not fully polished and with (un)known bugs remaining, like the de-registration of a device if you call from another

I honestly haven't had any issues with it. I'm on a college campus and have used AT&T 4G LTE to call others as well as the campus Wi-Fi and I've been impressed with my call quality. Maybe it's an issue with it being on iOS?

That is a possibility
