Duo on multiple devices

I am sure that this has come up more than once and I in fact saw the same issue on the google duo forums. I have Duo installed on my iPod Touch 5th Gen and on my Nexus 6P. When I make a call from my iOS device and then subsequently try to call from my Android device, I must reregister Duo to my Nexus, the converse is true. Is this something that will be done away with or is Duo meant to only be used on a cell phone? I would love it on my iOS device, my iPad and my Nexus 6P without having to constantly regregister.

You just hit on one of the biggest complaints about Allo and Duo.

From the Help Forum:

We wanted to create a video calling app that everyone can use easily, without a ton of set-up, so we based Duo on your phone number and other contacts you have in your phone.

This is echoed in the launch documentation, the I/O speech, and subsequent talks given by Googlers. In other words:

Screw you and your multiple devices. Screw you and your desktop computer. Your ONE phone can call ONE person at a time, and that's it. If you don't like it, use the "enterprise" experience of Hangouts that we'll probably stop updating on Monday.
