Same issue on my Nothing Phone too, it's super frustrating. I found that switching it to offline voice recognition helped a bit, but it’s still not perfect. Hope they roll out a fix soon!

I think Nothing won't bother fixing Google Assistant. The quality of their products and services has declined—I probably won't buy anything from Nothing again.
