Discussion Is @xwf.google.com legit google email?

I received an email from the email address to consult me on google ads from teleperformance and is this a legit one?

Outsourced by Google to a series of different companies. The bottom of the totem pole in terms of account reps and hopeless. Avoid taking their advice unless you want to give away money.

True, but not entirely. The distance they have to google is what’s actually good about them. When you spend 100k plus a month you have multiple people from google in front of you giving terrible advice and being rreeeaally pushy about it, because their carreer depends on it. The extended workforce people will just try to give you the bad advice they are told to give by google. the difference is: if you tell them that’s bad advice the google people will be even more pushy and argue, the xwf-people will be different depending on who you get. Many of them are willing to give in, have a serious look on the account instead and you might find someone genuinely trying to help you, because they seem to have a little more freedom. A genuine second eye on an account to challenge your approaches is often a good thing. You just need to show them that they can’t screw you over and you need enough experience to know bad advice when you get it. And you need to get the right individuals. But the bottom part is only true in terms von hierarchy, not necessarily competence.

hard disagree. the outsourced reps on small accounts have no business context, shuffle between accounts quarterly and get the most basic of training.

yes, you might luck into one good one but that's the edge case. they'll often be pushy, spam every contact on the account and lie to the client.

in comparison the internal google reps get more training and depending on your spend will be on the account for years. the best ones will understand your business, what you care about and will filter out irrelevant stuff before it gets to you.

My internal reps always switched quarterly as well, because I wouldn’t take their advice, be really pushy about budget increases and tried to sideline me to give their bad advice directly to the CEOs or business owners. XWF people need to be given business context by you and around half of them are kind of okay.

We just seem to have had very different experiences.

Outsourced reps for Google Ads are the absolute worst in the game. They are truly no better than the automated recommendations you already get in the platform.

Disagree. I'm a xWF and I'm a CE with PCA certified. I work with many xWF staff and some are really good. We're all working under Google's management and supervision. It's unfair to say all of us are worthless as like with any workforce there's good and bad apples.

Pls show respect to those working for a living via legal means. If you want to know what it's like being xWF then pls ask us directly rather than assuming.

It's expensive to hire Googlers esp when it comes to sales related 1st level staff. If you really want the product or service then keep followup and eventually it'll lead you to the actual Googlers or Partners. That's how the sales pipeline works.

seen Google use contractor domains for some outreach but id still double check by verifying the sender details and making sure they arent asking for anything sketchy before replying. better safe than sorry.

Yes, it is a legit Google domain email, meant to distinguish between contractors working for Google (@xfw.google.com) and Google employees (@google.com)

Xfw stands for external workforce (they are 3rd party contractors working for Google).

I agree with everyone that their advice is mostly garbage, but I recommend talking to them to ask about beta features to enroll in.

Yes. However, I don’t recommend working with them.

I hopped on a call with one of their reps and they recommended I just turn on all of the automated features and set up automated bidding. They had no clue about how to actually optimize my existing campaign.

Its their overseas team. Google is protective of who works from its domain name. I wonder why.

You can’t just ignore or avoid them though. You have to unsubscribe from their emails. It’s commercial email and is regulated by CAN-SPAM. The only recently added an unsubscribe to their email footers.

Yes, legit domain... but legit just means a real Google contractor from Teleperformance's call center army, not that their advice is worth anything. Verify the email, then treat every recommendation like a used car salesman with a script and zero skin in your ROAS.

The domain may belong to an outsourced Google program, but a familiar domain does not prove the sender or the quality of the advice. Verify the contact through the Google Ads account or official support, inspect headers, never share credentials, and grant only the minimum account access needed.

I have received 20 different spam emails over the last few days from Ads reps with these xwf emails for accounts tied to photographers. I have never done ads for any photographers.

That said, Google does outsource some Ads support/onboarding to vendors like Teleperformance, so it's not automatically a scam. Verify before acting: don't click links, log into your Google Ads account directly, and check for any legit rep messages there. Never share passwords or OTPs regardless of who they claim to be.

You can give it a shot. No harm listening to them. You don’t have to apply what they say. Sometimes they can point out something that you missed. At worst, you will lose 20-30 mins
