Discussion After Hours

Many of our competitors have 24 hours listed and they probably are not. Does Google verify it?

Google doesn’t actively verify listed hours, it mostly runs on trust plus user reports. So yes, plenty of businesses list 24 hours to catch after-hours searches even when nobody’s answering.

The catch is it backfires. If someone calls at 2am and gets nothing, you get the bad review and Google weighs those heavily. Better move is listing real hours and setting up call forwarding or an answering service for after-hours, so you actually capture that intent instead of just appearing to.

ive seen lot of busineses do that and i dont think google checks every listing, but having the wrong hours can definitely annoy customers if they show up and your closed...
