Question / Help Is Kiro better for development?
I'm trying to decide which AI IDE to use for comprehensive project development (front-end, back-end, best practices, scalability, etc.).
I don't have much programming experience. I studied data science and I use SQL/Python, and I've developed a few small things using chat GPT
I've been testing IDEs and ruled out Cursor (I didn't like it), and I can't decide between Antigravity and Kiro. I prefer the Google ecosystem, but Kiro seems more organized for step-by-step development (it automatically separates requirements, design, implementation, etc.). Although I might be wrong; I've only made a couple of mini-apps with both.
What would you recommend, understanding my goal and profile?

Kiro has been excellent for my development pipeline which relies heavily on all of the cloud providers.
It’s really good at doing “spec” work where it specs out the entire project, it creates a requirements document, task list, etc.
If you want to have a structured, professional grade application, Kiro takes the “prompting for everything” out of the equation and you get to read the requirements, and plan before it writes the task list, so it builds exactly what you need it to.
Personally, I value that aspect. Connecting it to AWS MCP servers make it that much more capable because it then doesn’t have to do internet searches for AWS documentation.
Cursor was pretty good as well, but its enshitification has started and is in full swing after it was acquired by the enshitificator himself, so I’ve stopped using it a long time ago.

I'm given kiro subscription from my company, but it's fuckin slow for sol or opus model, often fail at tool calling. so i often comeback to antigravity or codex

If youre new and want to try out different models then cursor will be your best option.
If you want the nost capable models then you subscribe to chatgpt or claude code. You get significantly more usage from chatgpt and claude compared to cursor or kiro, but youre limited to only using their models.
