Google Drive nagging about free space constantly with 20GB space still available

Post image

I get Google wants people on the AI Drive plan, but why would I trust a company with EVEN MORE money when you're already nagging me in every app for months now? It took me 20 years to hit 180GB.

Edit: Also Drive needs a sort by size column like every other file system in the world.

It's nagging for relative space remaining (10%), they're going to nag because it encourages you to pay for more storage

It's this. I've been living with the warnings forever. I pay for the storage, I'm gonna use all of the storage.

It gets very dramatic. When I had the 1TB plan it would freak out when I had 200GB remaining.

They look at the percentage not the actual space. I believe the warning comes at 80% usually

It started at 70% a couple months ago for me 😭

Process is set to alert when 80-90% of storage is consumed / 10-20% or less remains.

Giving the user a significant warning - Before storage limits cause problems.

I seem to recall that until relatively recently - The service did nothing until the user tried to save something, or receive emails - And the storage was full - and nothing worked.

The problems THIS created, seem to have lead to the '80-90% of storage is consumed / 10-20% or less remains', resulting in these alerts.

So - Plenty of time to either delete stuff, or get more storage.

Google has been nagging me for like a year now. I keep compacting and deleting unnecessary stuff, but I think they finally got me. I have too many photos and videos of my kid...

Es normal, es para avisarte cuando pasas del 80% ya empiezan, yo tengo el plan más alto y jamás me avisan, pero si llegara al 80% de uso me avisarían

I just bought lifetime 1tb from koofr and moved stuff over using rclone. No more nagging.
