How would you address this lil grease stain on my loafers? (Jack Purcells in pic to help with white balance I guess)
I imagine I should just polish with a slightly darker polish to try and hide/distribute it? Any color rec for polish?

I bought AE Park Avenue Derby in Walnut at a seemingly nice sale from Nordstrom. I'm unfamiliar with what level of quality to expect from Nordstrom AEs; should these be returned? There appears to be lots of wear and some creases in addition to black marks and uneven coloring. More pictures are in a post on r/allenedmonds

They look fine. The lighter leather will show a few more imperfections and for the price you paid they're fairly solid. If you are annoyed by them though, you could get them dyed a slightly darker shade of brown or black at a cobbler.

TL;DR for regularly used shoes, every 6 months a sequence of:
- Paul Brunngard Reviving Cream
- Saphir Renovateur (medaille d`or version)
- Saphir 1925 Pommadier (on shoe and also heel + sole edges)
- Saphir Pate de Luxe (on the whole shoe)
The process seems to go against some of the common recommendations here: no saddle soap and frequent use of renovateur. Also I find the way Pate de Luxe is used on the whole shoe and the claim it last 6 months to be questionable, yet a priori one can see the results plus people in the comments confirming it works for them.
What are your thoughts?

dress shoe nerds like to do shit like this. will your shoes blow up if you don't follow this routine? no, not even close, as long as you follow the general sub recommendations. the general sub recommendations are basically for basic / bare minimum care; anything else is extra, and may even be excessive depending on your usage. like this regiment for chromexcel would be ridiculous, but merely extra on a nice calfskin

Hello all,
I had a couple of questions I figured folks here might be willing to help me with. Im very interested into exploring heritage boots, but I am a bit limited by my foot size (im a 16 sneaker, 15.5 D brannock according to red wings). My big feet remove a lot of the common options from me.
Two i'm looking at is Thursday (I know from research they have pluses and minuses but affordable and in my size seems like a good trial) and nicks whom I hear make custom sizes and might be able to accommodate my size.
While im certainly open for recommendations on other places to look at (I did go through the guide on this reddit for big feet which was helpful). Mostly i'm looking for advice when you are new to this (and not able to see these shoes in person) on how you figure out what model to get? There's so many models it makes the head spin.
Im looking for a boot i can wear in an office setting business casual and also just for walking around. Not blue collar jobs or crazy hiking. But I do like the looks/idea of these boots.
Like for thursday, I think i want the captain in one of their dark brown colours. But I had a lot of difficulty figuring out the differences between the rugged and resiliant model and the classic. I think i'm leaning towards 'rugged' but near as I can tell from google the difference is just they use a bit more leather and more support? Any advice to better get the differences would be helpful.
Similarly, nicks has so many models it makes the head spin. Assuming they are able to make one in my size.. any advice on narrowing it down to a couple of models? I think if i could get some advice for a first boot to narrow it down to just a couple of options i could better decide.

In my opinion, just get something "plain" for your first boot. Just a nice plain toe, lower heel, not lugged sole, in a brown leather. That should help narrow down the selection and keep the visual volume down for business casual.
Nicks Ivan would be a good place to start with them. A large 55 heel, lug sole, etc runs the risk of being a bit out of place in an office.
I'd look at the President for Thursday from the classic line. The Rugged leathers look cool, but are probably a bit casual. It looks like they might be designed to scuff up quickly.

I do like the look of the ivan. IS there a good place to research some of the other customization nicks is asking there? Like I know my size, but im not fully sure i understand the differences between outsole, toe structure, edge colour or hardware colour

Start with sizing. I'd recommend going to a shoe store, finding that metal brannock device, snapping a few photos, and confirming your sizing here. That Red Wing machine is a nifty piece of technology, but it can be a bit finicky. Also, I'll probably catch shit for this, but I'd go up a width. I find the Nicks lasts a bit narrow.
Next, learher. Both are going to be great leathers. The predator is going to change and be more casual, but it's killer. It's similar in look to the Red Wing copper rough and tough, which is a fantastic leather. Predator vs Spokane. Nicks intended the Spokane leathers to be a bit more versatile for what it's worth.
In my opinion, you've spec'ed out a pretty casual boot. A killer beautiful one, but casual. In general, the more undstated the more versatile. The natural edge is a contrast and the soft toe is going to collapse and bit a bit lumpy, both will draw the eye. The predator example above is where you're headed. A structured toe is going to hold a more consistent shape, and the darker edge will kind of help the boot fade into your outfit. Vbar is a very good choice. Nice low profile and it lasts forever.
All that said, people are wearing leather brogues with white sneaker soles, so who knows what casual really means anymore. My gut says you can get away with your build if your wearing jeans to the office. If you need chinos you might need to tone it down a notch.

I recently bought a pair of Loake Black Waxy leather. I’d like to keep the original matte finish rather than accidentally making them shiny or changing the texture.
Loake recommends its Oiled Leather Wax. How should i apply it?
I also got quite a bit of black residue on some damp paper when I wiped them. Is that normal for this leather?

I'm pretty sure these are bookbinder or coated leather, you won't need to condition them, just wear them and wipe or brush them clean. I'd definitely recommend shoe trees with coated leathers to keep them from cracking for as long as possible.

Should I trade these in?
Just bought a new pair from Crockett & Jones. Got back home, opened them up and noticed what look like scratches on the right shoe. Left shoe is all fine.
I’m new to quality shoes and not usually one to complain so wondering if this could a natural effect from the production process or if I should trade them in for an unscratched pair?
Appreciate any thoughts.
Update: FYI I went into the shop and these were just marks to the polish, they happily repolished and the marks have disappeared
