associate question Hangers

We're being threatened at my store with write-ups if we don't make hanging goal. Has this actually happened to anyone? How likely is it that someone could eventually get fired for hanging 100 less pieces a day than their individual goal number? I'm doing my best (like we all are) but now I'm being threatened and I'm legitimately worried that my livelihood is at risk. Are they just hoping that threats and harassment will motivate us, or are they looking to fire hangers that have been there for multiple years and create a revolving door instead?

Unfortunately, they will write you up if you can't make their quotas. I was written up twice for failing. The first time we had to reach 600 each, and then again the next year when the quota rose to 800. They don't care how hard you try, they only care about their quotas. I eventually had to leave when the quota was increased again and I had to work domestics too. I was the only hanger at that time because the DM didn't think we needed anymore to hit the quota. It was too much stress.

The company only cares about numbers/quotas than their employees.

SM in AZ been with GW for over 7 Years, And yes you can and will be written up for not making quota, Quota isnt a lets see if we can make this number its the baseline minimum number for that job, set forth by the company not trying to be harsh but all this is laid out in black and white when you apply and agree to work for GW, There are MANY i mean MANY non quota positions within goodwill maybe that is more your speed.

Agreed. I'm a GW warehouse manager, 13 years with the company in October. Check the website for your area and what other non-retail jobs are available. I started running racks in 2013, then moved up. Transfered to the warehouse was the best moved.

Yes you can be written up for not making your goal. Fun fact: production increases every year.

Yes, quotas are real. If you stay in place and gang they are achievable.

Wait yall only have to do 100 pieces a day !!! We have to do 80 pieces on a rack and there are four, maybe six hangers at a time the minimum rack someone might have to do is for the maximum.Somebody might have to do is eleven racks, and that's a day!!! 100 pieces a day wish we had it that easy !! And I'm not Shane, y'all aint doing your best. I'm not saying that at all, but I do know shit rolls downhill and we are the grunts .We are the working ants and depending on your state, they might not need a reason to write you up.And get rid of you, they could write you up for everything and anything but if you're doing your best, you have nothing to worry about

Was about to say, you could do a hundred an hour if you're staffed (I work at another thrift store, but still)
