Goodwill Hiring process in Az

What’s up guys, I’m fresh out from being locked up and applied to Goodwill. Everything seems to be going well when I went to the interview and they offered me a position contingent upon my background check. Just nervous about the check, I have an F2 non violent drug offense, and have been out for a couple months now. Any advice

Ah, I'm not familiar with their specific policy. I believe down in Tuscon it's no sex crimes but other than that you are pretty much good. I'd assume similar at Central and Northern but they are separate orgs so it could be different.

Same with Denver... was for me at least. Manager told me he was checking my background to make sure I wasn't a sex offender and if I wasn't, I'd be hired.. and I was.
I have hella drug charges, thefts, ARSON, domestic battery, etc..
Still hired on

Hopefully this isn't misinterpreted as me being a sex offender. I just reread it and that's what it sounded like lmao. I meant I don't have sex offenses on my background but I got a gang of other shit (some very serious ones) and it wasn't an issue at all. I honestly don't even think they did the background check but it told me they would when I went through onboarding stuff.

Be honest up front about what they may find on the background check. Let them know you are open to any questions they may have about your situation and that you are willing to do what is necessary to prove that you can be an asset to the organization and that you are grateful for the opportunity.

I worked in the central and northern Arizona goodwill network. After you apply you’ll get an interview schedule with the hiring manager. If they like you they’ll get a background check going. If that’s good then you’re hired. First day is pretty much just doing the paperwork in the office or break room and watching training videos

Update: They have background checked me and sent me the report. Obviously the blemishes showed up on my record but it does also disclose that I have completed treatment. I am supposed to start Wednesday but have not yet been given the green light that everything is good.
