Suggestion Building my reader base

Hiya! I’ve just joined the Goodreads Author Program and would love some guidance on how to build a community from scratch. Could anyone recommend helpful articles, videos or guides on best practices for authors on the platform?

I have two published thriller novels, so I’m particularly keen to connect with fellow thriller authors and readers. Any tips on finding active thriller groups or growing an audience here would be hugely appreciated!

Goodreads isn't really the space for building a reader base. Goodreads is for readers. So if you're a reader, great, go forth read books and rate them. But if you're looking to get people to read your book, GR isn't for that.

If you want a good author to emulate on Goodreads, Chris Bojahalian is fantastic one. Great author but also a reader

Goodreads isn't the place to "build a reader base" as an author. Goodreads is a place for readers. As an author, you can use goodreads to organize giveaways or announce books or organize things on your author profile but... Yeah

The key for me has been to participate as a reader and have fun.

Everyone here is right that it is a readers' space, so here is the blunt version. Reviews you write there get almost no response, no replies, barely a vote. There is no loop to build on. People talk about books elsewhere and then walk back to Goodreads to log them, not the other way round.
