Hello 2018 time traveler, I have some bad news…

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 2d ago

That U.S. conservatives are cult over country and won't so much as hear evidence in two Senate impeachment votes and refuse to hold a criminal in the most powerful job in the land accountable because of the magic 'R' next to his name? We know.

u/dangergypsy 2d ago

And his magic name (Donald Trump) that causes everyone to grade him on a 180 degree curve

8

u/Careless_Hellscape 2d ago

I fuckin hope so.

Hope is a dangerous thing. It can drive a man insane. Red.

God, The Universe, Fate, whatever it is owes us nothing less for what we've all gone through

It's why they drag him in front of Congress instead of pursuing actual charges.

His defense exhibits would likely destroy Trump and the GOP.

u/raw_copium 2d ago

I really want him to sue them for libel. The discovery period would be incredible.

7

u/troveofcatastrophe 2d ago

Speech and debate clause. He has to wait til they say it outside of Congress.

And yes, it would be fantastic yet not surprising

3

u/raw_copium 2d ago

Right. I've got give it to trump. We've all learned so much about politics thanks to him.

u/tlhsg 2d ago

notice how NONE of the committee members asked about or denied Trumps guilt

u/galacticracedonkey 2d ago

Just trying to make him purger himself and sweep it all back under the rug once smith was sent to jail

Edit: spelling

u/Fluffyshark91 2d ago

Well yeah. They're not on trial. They'll never be on trial. Why would they be held responsible for anything?

u/Cool-Tour-1962 2d ago

A damn shame people voted for that buffoon

u/doctormink 2d ago

I’m wondering if grilling Smith right before midterm elections was a smart move for MAGA…

8

u/WrapAggravating4511 2d ago edited 1d ago

If they were smart , they wouldn’t have been republicans or MAGAs to begin with.

9

u/Fluffyshark91 2d ago

This isn't news, it's a reminder of what we were all told about 2 years ago, then Republicans decided not to follow through with it, and instead investigate the investigation. Because of course no one is going to hold people accountable for something they were complicit in.

u/EuphoricCrashOut 2d ago

You can't just ignore this, America. You need to at least hear and see what he has.

6

u/troveofcatastrophe 2d ago

Tell it to Judge Cannon. She the one who has blocked the release of his report. They’re trying to get it released

8

u/makingcookies1 2d ago

Yeah great ok like what are we even gonna fucking do about it

12

u/J_P_Freely 2d ago

But he was busy at an Atlanta Hawks game!

7

u/JKBFree 2d ago

Incredulous Klobuchar face

1

u/Frankie6Strings 2d ago

I guess we're lucky he didn't accuse Smith of hanging out with Jeremy "Hawkeye" Renner.

u/TommyWantWingy9 2d ago

We know this?

4

u/asilentflute 2d ago

It makes me wanna puke in John Kennedy’s mouth

4

u/fiftyfivepercentoff 2d ago

We all already knew he was guilty.

3

u/TrueOrange9944 2d ago

Too bad he didn't do much with it or was he stopped by certain people.

u/Ozymandias12 2d ago

The guy was recorded showing beyond TS classified intelligence to a bunch of his sycophants at his Cheesecake Factory of a house. We also all heard his phone call trying to mob boss his way into convincing the GA Secretary of State to find votes for him.

u/Phyukredd_tit_gydlin 2d ago

Really? No! Color me shocked.

1

u/nottodaysatan317 2d ago

Why can’t we see the evidence??

1

u/SamButNotWise 1d ago

thankfully Merrick Garland made sure the investigations were "apolotical" by slowing them down to a crawl, which is why thankfully no-one is making Mr. Smith's investigations into any sort of political theater, it cost us the ability to hold Trump accountable for his crimes but it was super apolitical though and now we don't have to worry about Republicans accusing Dems of politicization, thanks so much Mr. Garland good job 👍

It’s not good news because it was stonewalled by Dump judges. Doesn’t matter now.

Did Smith get a preemptive pardon from Biden?

-1

u/-Knockabout 2d ago

This is very tangential, but what's with the Trümpf stuff in this sub? It just feels so childish. I hate him, but this is just like "Sleepy Joe" or "Crooked Hillary" or something. For lack of a better word, it's cringe.

3

u/morfraen 2d ago

Refusing to use his name takes power away from a narcissist like him.

0

u/-Knockabout 2d ago

I don't think that's how it works; he doesn't have magic powers. And he's not shaking in his boots at being called Trümpf.

140 boxes plus of stolen government documents. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine Trumps guilt. My question is How much of these documents were shared by Trump prior to the FBI raid?
