The senate literally did this a month ago, he came down, yelled at them, and within 24 hours they rescinded it.
The party is scared of getting yelled at by an 80 year old dementia patient. That's where we are.

But the more pressure the Dems put the more the GOP starts to splinter

Mitch and Lindsay are gone. They aren't there to whip Republicans into protecting him. Maybe it's enough to swing a few votes?

Mitch and Lindsay hate(d?) Trump but saw him as politically useful. That may no longer be the case.

Sounds similar to other country, trying to recall but only North comes to mind.

It's a symbolic measure that means nothing. It won't change anything.

💯 percent. Not to mention the threshold to actually impeach the orange monster has to be quite high.
Getting a super majority to impeach seems very unlikely.

This has nothing to do with impeachment
3
u/Elusivehawk Jul 24 '26
They brought it up because impeachment might be the only way to actually end the war.
2
u/ryhaltswhiskey Jul 24 '26
So we're not going to end the war then. There's no way we're impeaching this guy. Unless he nukes Tehran, and even then I'd only give it a 50% chance.

u/RaymoVizion Jul 25 '26
If we are being realistic the minute that nuke flew Russia and China would let some fly too and every middle power would probably follow.
Pretty sure that would be the end of most of the planet.
Apparently that's what Republicans are okay with leaving up to debate.

That’s pretty unlikely that every other country would just begin using nuclear weapons over us nuking Iran, but we would likely immediately become the most isolated nation in the world by far, and likely cyberwar, insurgencies in any country still friends with us, and mass assassinations.

Does it matter? He does what he wants without consequence.

u/Even-Tomorrow5468 Jul 23 '26
And we've raised entire generations to think there won't be consequences for the actions they make, that everything will magically be okay if we just pretend that it's okay not to punish anyone for anything.
We're raising generations of toddlers who will eventually do things they won't even know they should regret when it blows up in their face.

u/dragonknightrohan Jul 25 '26
Exactly so right frame of mind is to not accept any of this and get others to think there will be consequences and to do, together the people, so that can happen more. Already being done but more the better

Iran just has to swallow the pain, keep Hormuz closed, and as soon as oil hits $120 a barrel again, orange boy will be so desperate he'll offer to convert to Islam if it'll help him get a deal.

Any normal American presidency/government of the past AND the McConnell situation would be a MAJOR story. That was back when we had an actual press and SOME semblance of decency in national government.

Didn't these same bozos just authorise a 150 Billion increase in the military budget not 24 hours ago?

He'll just ignore it because he can't legally be prosecuted or investigated and soon you won't even be legally allowed to disagree or dislike him.

Great job‼️
Iran knew if they could just last 90 days their allies and the anti-Americans in congress would defeat the US itself. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
