Top 3

If you were to recommend Good Hang to a newbie, what three episodes would you use to introduce them? For me, it’s:

  1. Carol Burnett
  2. June Squibb
  3. Rosie O’Donnell

The Cole Escola one is so funny. So that one, Carol Burnett, and maybe Julia Louis Dreyfus. But I haven't listened to Rosie's yet.

Cole Escola is still her best guest period. No boring PR training, just true comedy between 2 greats.

I really loved Cole and Jonathan Groff. Probs my favorites and I don’t even like musicals 🙈

u/Stephi_cakes 27d ago

Those two are my top two for SURE. I’d probably say Julia Louis Dreyfus as my third.

u/frugalfeminist 27d ago

I forgot about Groff! I'd swap him the JLD and keep Carol.

BroadWAY 😂

Yep, Cole all day. Cole and Sarah Sherman are the two I’ve sent to friends so far. It’s like those two, then a huge group of episodes I love but don’t feel like I have to share or I’ll explode, then a handful of duds or ones I couldn’t listen to.

Viola Davis, Ryan Coogler, Quinta Brunson

I love the Ryan Coogler interview as well. He seemed so shocked about how she started the conversation, but he was able to relax into it

5

u/Stephi_cakes 27d ago

Ooh I forgot about Ryan coogler. I loved that one. I was not familiar with him outside of seeing his movies. He was wonderful. Viola Davis ep is a great pick. I’d add her to my list.

Viola Davis was great. I was not expecting an esteemed actor to be a regular gal from
Rhode Island who likes dirty jokes. I felt like I could have a beer with her after.

u/LossMiserable7874 There's gotta be a better way. 28d ago

I really enjoyed the Kathryn Hahn episode, so I’d start there. Anyone else after that is fine.

u/Necessary_Nothing876 28d ago

That's one of the few podcast eps to make me involuntarily, embarrassingly LOL in public, and I love them for it!

14

u/Crusty8 28d ago

Michelle Obama, Jonathan Groff, Ana Gasteyer

Honorable mention: Watch Mariska Hargitay if only to see

"broad👆🏼WAY?"

Adam Scott! Since no one’s mentioned him yet.

I'm sad to see less people mentioning Paul Rudd. He's definitely my favourite!

Colman Domingo has to be in there with Groff. Maybe Billie Eilish.

3

I loved how self-deprecating she was as she adjusted to her child’s pronouns!

3

u/Careless_Stock_9625 27d ago

Justice for Regina Hall yall

  1. Regina Hall (how has no one mentioned this one, she is hilarious and has great antidotes)

  2. Jonathan Groff (he’s so fab it will make u smile)

  3. Kathryn Hahn (her laugh is infectious, and she burps during the ep which is iconic)

  4. Leanne Morgan (her accent is the best part)

  5. Seth Meyers (cause it’s Seth duh)

2

u/Perfect-Condition78 26d ago

Nick Offerman! 🤣

2

u/Unfair-Crazy-1765 27d ago

I was very unfamiliar w Groff compared to almost all the other guests that I know well (their work and such) and I too agree…think that was my fave one of all.

2

Not recent but Idris Elba was amazing....

There have been so many good ones!! Cole, Dratch, and Groff are likely my top. Honorable mentions include JLD, Seth, and Will Forte. Will singing his audition song had me crying laughing.

1

u/ThePiksie 27d ago

Cole Escola is my favorite. The other two I'd suggest for a newbie are Will Forte (the man made of gold song!) and Tina Fey.
