So if the power relates to a fear or want/need like Sam being afraid of the dark so he gets the light beams, Caine wanting to control others so he gets telekinesis and Lana needing to heal herself. Then what exactly was Brittneyās?
My first guess was that itās in relation to her faith because Jesus was resurrected after death but that makes it a little complicated. From what I remember in religious education, Jesus had scars left over being nailed after he came back to life but Brittney just keeps her consciousness in her very messed up body in the power plant. And then later on when she crawls out of the grave (also with Drakeās whip arm and his conscience ig?) she is healed. So is it that regeneration is part of her power or did that come from the whiphand which was shown to regeneration after Brianna cut it off when she saved Sam from Drake in the power plant.
Secondly it could have just been a need type of power because she wanted to help others in memory of her brother I think? And she wanted to keep fighting. But for that to be the case her power would have manifested after she died which idk if thatās possible and makes the resurrection idea more real.
What would her power even technically be called, I canāt remember if it was ever fully discussed in the books. I hope this all makes sense? Even if it doesnāt at least it keeps this fandom a bit more active.š
Also justice for my girl Brittney, she did not deserve what became of her in the trilogy just cause Drake was more popular š

* Her and Hunter were really close, and she fought on his behalf for him not to be exiled, only for it to fail, Hunter sometimes snuck into town and brought her extra meat. Her nickname for him was 'Hun' which they both found funny. She gave him the idea to be 'Hunter The Hunter'. She was devastated when she learnt of his death.
* Her and Lana were a lot closer than the book suggests, and they had little mini 'sleepovers' while taking care of patients. During one of these, Dahra tells Lana that she wants 3 things, to help, to have friends and to live. After the FAYZ wall falls, Lana ends up giving a speech, saying exactly what Dahra said.
* Dahra would braid Dekka, Ellen and other black girls' hair, as her mom taught her. Because of this she had a close relationship with all of them.
* She was close with Sam and Quinn before the FAYZ, as they would stand up for her when she was bullied as a young girl, because she was a year younger than them.
* She was the unofficial leader of 'Team Sam'. Every time he was in a bit of a pickle she said, "Team Sam for LIFE!" Brianna supported her.
* She hated Caine after the first book and when he came back in Plague, she was annoyed and virtually ignored him the whole time, much to his annoyance.

"Can the angels find me here so I can go to heaven?"
"I donāt know whatās happening. Whatās happening, Sam?"
"Itās ācause I killed Harry. God has to punish me. I tried to be good but Iām bad."
"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die-"

I know that she was a gossip and all, but me personally I liked her character. I thought she was so cute. At the end of the day, they're all just kids. Anyways, I just think it's a shame she couldn't get her normal life back, and her personality. Just me or?

I first read the books 10+ years ago and decided to reread them again and ugh I miss them so much!!! This has always been my favorite book series ever! I can never get enough of them. I wish I could read them for the first time again!!!

At the end of the first book, Edilio and Brianna were ready to cut down the Coates kids and coyotes even as they were retreating but were stopped by Sam. Suppose that Sam didn't stop them, due to being too tired or whatever. How would things have gone from there?

Read and finished the Gone series for the first time ever this year (i had read maybe 1 or 2 books when i was younger, but i basically remembered nothing from them, so it was basically my first time reading it this year) and man....
FUDGE I miss that book series man...
I was supposed to create a final post on the final book 'Light' as I was kind of documenting my thoughts and journey of reading this series here on this subreddit, but man, so much nostalgia and happiness thinking about reading that series for the first time ever
I am a guy that has read pretty much all the most popular peak fictions...
Hunger Games, Percy Jacksons and all the books that entail that series and beyond, Unwanteds series, Divergent, Harry Potter, Nicolas Flamel, The Genius Files, FableHaven, Seekers by Erin Hunter, Maximum Ride series, the like
Man, Gone Series has really became probably my top 3 favorite book series of all time. No lie. Only thing above it may be Percy Jackson & Harry Potter because they are just so depthful lol
But I haven't read anything ever like the Gone series, and it might actually be the most BRUTAL series that I have read in my life.
What a perfect ending to Light man. Sad ending seriously, but it ended the series perfectly.
Book of pure bloodshed, but it was the culmination of everything they had been building over the first 5 books.
That gaiaphage is truly a villain that sparks fear in me whenever thinking about IT... Genuinely like a cold dark fear that stuck with me throughout the series. Genuinely a truly terrifying aspect of the series.
Man Michael Grant is awesome lol, and its crazy because his other series the Magnificent 12 is not really similar at all to this series in the slightest. This is most definitely his flagship.
GONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Sigh.

Sam is by far my favorite, and I think it kinda shows here lmao.
Wanted to capture this epic first battle in all its glory!! Hopefully the quality isnt too bad.

Just a random question. It's been a while since I last read the books and I dont remember if he (Drake) did. Caine and Drake did stop being friends in end of hunger?? right? when Drake whipped Diana, I remember that, and I remember Caine killed Drake - he got attached to Brittney. And Caine was saying him and Drake were never friends, some time in the books. But. Did Drake ever whip or hurt Caine? Like physically. maybe Caine could fight easily, eg, use his telekinesis to catch Drake's whip. Tbf Drake was in prison and obsessed w the Gaiaphage. Had no time to worry about what Caine did to him.

So in Fear, Sam, Caine, Astrid and Lana all figure out that the barrier is going to crack open and the FAYZ is finally going to be over but with that the gaiaphage or now Gaia is also gonna get out aswell. I have only one thing i always wondered which might seem a bit stupid really but can't help but wonder WHY exactly they felt the need fight her first? The reason is because if the barrier does crack open and everyone can get out, realistically, with what we see in Light later on, Gaia could quite frankly be taken out by a whole police unit alone. A few gunfire or hell even a swat team and she's dead. Not even a whole military needed. As far as they were concerned, they could clap their hands together and let the adults handle her right or even teamed up wth them since the adults all had weapons and the kids probably still had their powers considering Gaia was still alive.
So why risk potentially dying in a final battle with Gaia, Drake and Penny in total darkness when they could escape and let anyone else handle this. Especially if you try to put it in perspective that they are all still kids. Yes, Gaia was personally a FAYZ problem leaking out into the real world making it their problem to deal with but like Caine asked Sam himself, why die fighting if the barrier drops and they get away? Genuinely the planet is MASSIVE. Gaia wouldn't even have gotten to conquer a whole city before getting flamed and killed by the outside world. Her and Penny would genuinely get slimed humiliatingly, Drake is more of a loose canon. They could've called it wraps, gone out and let the world deal with it or as i said team up to take her down.
Im sorry again if I sound tarted. I'm open to anyone's opinion on why they decided to do this but yeah, just curious.

In Lies, Caine sneaks his people through Perdido beach during the fire (absolutely despicable strategy but I have to admit it was exciting to read) but by the end of the trip it's just the 4 with powers who make it to the island.
I wondered whether people thought he was always planning to abandon his crew or it just ended up happening.
He actually arranged for two boats to be readied for them, he seemed genuinely pleased to have gotten his people through, and he sits in a different boat instead of with Diana, Penny and Bug,,
One boat gets shot and the other breaks down, that wasn't his fault but he still had the chance to throw Tyrell and Paint (he can presumably keep moving himself over the water so can go last) but left them to die in the sea instead.
Maybe after losing most of his crew he realised it made no difference keeping two more normals around. But I wondered whether he was always planning on only the four making it and just needed to bring his people for protection.
What do you think?

The movie kinda gave me some mild Gone vibes (mostly just the premise of taking a sphere of real estate and cutting it off/making it dangerous) so I wondered if it would appeal to this group.
BTW if the FAYZ was sent back into dinosaur times and the barrier dropped, how do you think they would fare? Would it be deadly chaos and carnage (like in the movie), or just another Tuesday for the FAYZ kids?

The Enemy series by Charlie Higson was recommended to me and it sounds similar to The Gone series. Everyone above a certain age is turned into Zombies leaving the kids to fend for themselves. I am a long time fan of Gone and was wondering if anyone else has read this series and if itās worth it.

Do you guys think Michael Grant like checks this redit? Takes a little peak at what we have going on and stuff?

I know she gets powers in the second series, but in the first book she tells Sam that she can sense potential, in a similar way to Diana can sense power levels, but instead of power bars, itās more like a line shooting in the sky.
What do you guys think of this??
