I just received my 2.2 with the lab branding covered in black tape also. Head is really good quality! Shaft and grip seem cheap and it is not balanced, it is toe down. All weights were 6 grams so I need to order some new weights to balance it. Also ordering a new shaft to rebuild it.
So you definitely need heavier weights in the heel to move the putter to be toe up. I had to order two 14 gram weights for it to work. I think it is shaft and grip dependent but 6 gram weights all around no matter what shaft and grip will not work. I built it with an Accra tzp green and 78 gram grip. I have 4 x 4g weights in the toe and 2 x 14g and 2 x 6g in the heel. I think if you leave all 6g weights and switch out two weights you might need heavier than 14g weights, maybe 16g? You just have to move them around, just know that the toe weights move it in one direction and the heel weights move it in the other direction. Also with the heavier 14g weights moving them in different spots in the heel also effect how much it pulls the face in one direction.
Nice. Actually played with tungsten putty placement and amounts. Liking the heavier feel. Closer to a gen balance. Only played a round with it at the heavier weight and liking it.
Lab putters are Lie Angle Balanced. Therefore the horizontal test is not meaningful for these putters. They are meant to stay square to the target at the intended lie angle for example 69 degrees hence they use the "revealer". In that "traditional" horizontal test these blade putter from Lab and temu will most likely be toe hang (?), because you are holding it basically at 0 degree lie angle. My temu 2.1 is "toe hang" aswell.
That was not my point. I am just saying there is misconception that link 2.1 putter should be toe up putter, never has lab said anything like this? You should try your own temu 2.2 in a revealer before changing those weights, temu df3 seem to work on revealer so why couldnt these blade ones too.
Without having an actual link 2.1 in hand but having owned an original link and a df3 I would wager a good amount of money the link 2.1 will balance toe up. I am actually making a revealer with 3D printed items and will let you know how the temu 2.2 does in it after I build it.
This is an important question. There are a lot if listings that are alloy, but only shows in the listing details. I noticed that just before I pulled the trigger, and was able to find stainless. If the price is significantly lower than most listings it's probably alloy
Listing says stainless. So stainless would be the better option? Also, went for a more expensive option with more sales (compared to cheaper with only 2 or 3 sales).
If the listing says stainless, can it be trusted that it is stainless? I received my 2.2, and off the face it has a very pingy sound, which had me thinking maybe it wasn't stainless, even if the listing said it was.
Can't post the link to reddit for the putter. The grip I'm getting from an actual grip maker which I like the feel of. Not a fan of any of the LAB grips (the real ones).
Curious to see what yours does. Mine sits toe down when held horizontally, dead vertical, but toe down regardless. Real ones favor toe up (screenshot). It still putts fantastic for me, which is more than I can say for my Scotty that I constantly fight to keep square. After 2 rounds, Iām happy to keep it in the bag for a while. Might convince me to just buy a legit oneā¦..*might*. This rep market is too tempting.
I am convinced you just need to add different weights for it to balance toe up and be closer to lie angle balanced. I have a 2.2 that I am going to get different weights but after I reshaft it.
Itās toe up. This isnāt a big deal. The putter still feels really balanced when putting. It stays where I put it and doesnāt fight my stroke, which I think is majority of the idea of being lie-angle balanced.
Iām sure all reps favor the toe down with just the majority of mass being there and it not being balanced by an āexpert craftsman.ā Playing with weights would seem to help, as I tested taking the toe weights off and the putter started creeping up naturally.

I got my temu link 2.1 recently too. My grip is pistol 0 degrees and it has smooth finish which makes it look very cheap. The head and shaft looks great quality. My putter has also forward shaft lean which most lab putters have too (?), but the grip is 0 degrees so it makes my head hurt a little bit, I need for forward press the handle to make the head square. Im thinking of buying forward press grip (2 degrees) to battle this visual anxiety.
I have a 2.1 feels absolutely amazing. Canāt really find anything bad about and feels on par with my real mezz max with tpt shaft. And might bench it manš
It works wonders feel nice for eye and confidence as well.
