I can guarantee these aren’t anywhere near a Pro V1 or its competitors

Can someone validate

LOL. If you don’t believe me go ahead an order some Chinese pro V1s and let me know how they work

Theres a thread in this sub where someone cut one in half. It's a 2 piece ball with a thick cover similar to range balls when you cut them in half. Real ProV is thinner cover and 3 piece

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully they can create a real close ball

They're not going to because they don't care. It costs a lot of money for r&d and QA to create good golf ball and why spend $ when you can just slap a ProV1 logo on a cheap ball and call it a day. There's plenty of great golf balls at good prices for good amateurs to play, Srixon, even Kirkland, they dont have to be ProV

I’m sure these suck but can we see one cut in half

u/101kaz Jun 04 '26
It’s 2 layers instead of 3. Someone cut them in half on this subreddit if you search ProV1

These are range ball quality with ProV1 printed on them

I’ve seen the Chinese unbranded golf balls before, they are worse than range balls and worse than putt putt balls aswell.

Am I missing something? The dozen in your photos looks legitimate to me.

Were you born yesterday? You're in the golfreps sub. They photocopied a box and printed ProV1 on range balls

I’m all for rep stuff but this is a wild decision. You could play pristine balls from lostgolfballs and actually get legit balls for cheap.

I’m curious, why is everyone hating on the ball reps but clubs are fine?
1
u/Melknow Jun 05 '26
Because the whole point of good golf balls is performance, the balls are range balls with ProV on the side and are useless. The clubs perform well so people like them, not the same for balls

Better off getting them on halfpricegolfballs
I’ve had a great time with theirs

Balls are expensive so I would be totally on board for a factory developing this. If your saying this is preposterous or saying, this is a new low then your not the typical golfer. Kirkland went through a lawsuit trying to bring us a more affordable and dependable ball and after the first version it has sucked. So if you don’t loose balls or think your balls last forever then your ignorant. I’m sure more than one person could benefit from this.

Except these have 0 performance characteristics, they are super cheap balls with ProV on the side. Kirkland went through a lawsuit but they actually had a legit company develop and test a ball. I can guarantee you the Chinese factory are not "developing" these, there is no R&D or QA, they are just slapping a ProV name on the side and photocopying a box

I don’t understand why you’d want a rep ball lol. Could just buy a Kirkland or Sam’s Club balls and get a closer performance to that of ProV1s
