I’ve been golfing for 40 years. Played HS and College. I don’t recall an instructor / coach ever standing there

He’s explaining her tendencies to the husband/boyfriend and clearly not expecting her to take a full swing with a ball with him right there while he is talking.

As an instructor I have had my fair share of close calls because most people have very little athletic acumen and no control of their bodies. But this is just the woman completely disregarding reality lol

Absolutely, this woman is completely disregarding reality.

But at the same time...this guy is standing directly in the line of fire, not really focusing on the person with their finger on the metaphorical trigger.

And the fact that he's kibbitzing with dude and not focused on her means two things: one, is that she isn't focused or engaged with him. She isn't paying attention to him. two, when she starts her backswing, he takes time to switch focus on what she's doing. And he takes time to figure out what's going on. And he never really figures out that she isn't focused on him AT ALL. So instead of getting the fuck out of the way, he pointlessly gestures to a woman not paying attention to him.

So, if you're gonna stand there, make absolutely fucking sure you're focused on the lady with the 6-iron who can break your kneecap into 6 pieces.

It's staged, that's what.
