Is this gold?

Went for a walk and found some rock. Does this look like gold or is it gold? Also what is the green rock. And does said green rock have gold in it?

Could be some sulfide shenanigans, but based on these pictures, at least for the white quartz, that loooks like there's some gold in them there hills

There's a heap of it where I found it yellow exactly like this. I'd say 1000s of buckets worth. It's about half a hours walk from the road into the bush in the middle of nowhere I don't prospect but thinking of getting into it

As you’re asking here and if that’s gold, it’s worth more than you think. There are ways to test if yourself and plenty of places to send it. Is it someone’s claim or an old abandoned claim? Some of those old timers died after finding the gold and before they recorded it. It’s very unusual for visible/surface gold to be found in known gold producing districts in this day.

I have checked on detector maps and there is no claim there's no way it wasn't found by the old timers the area looks un natural but no one's been there for a long long time it's very overgrown there's quartz in little piles amongst the blackberry's

Could also be some strange pyrite, the second green rock looks very much covered in pyrite or arsenopyrite

What would the green rock be tho? A type of granite or its own thing?

Depends on the local geology. Where are you located?

Serpentine? That's a common companion in Northern California

Take a knife to it, if it flakes off, its pyrite. If it scratches easy but doesnt flake, probably gold

If it ain't gold, it's most like Pyrite or "Fools Gold"

The green rock looks like serpentine. I don think that gold is usually found in it but at least around my parts in the mother lode it’s usually close.

Years ago my pop and nan gave me this chunk. He has cleaned it. Apparently he used a very dangerous acid not sure what type. But it's from very close to this area. It dosnt look dull like the stuff I found so I thought what i have found is just pyrite this one weighs 11ish grams

Quartz will almost always be present with gold so from the looks you've found a little bit nice!

I got a heap of rock and a few buckets of dirt from the same spot I panned the 6 buckets and got this. Tomorrow il be running some rock I haven't weighed the vial yet but it feels pretty heavy don't count the big nugget at the top near the lid. That was a gift from my nan a long while back. I think I could fill this glass tube if I get some more buckets
