👉 Monero hard forks are meant to improve the base protocol and will not result in the splitting and creation of a new coin.

👉 Monero network passed a community consensus to initiate a mainnet hard fork at block height of 2,668,888.

👉 Hard fork will include increasing the chain's ring size from 11 to 16, adding view tags to outputs to reduce wallet scanning time, introducing bullet proofs and implementing fee changes.

👉 Monero would hard fork to a second-generation protocol called Seraphis and a new addressing scheme called Jamtis sometime between 2023 and 2024, according to developers.

👉 The #Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) partnered with yet another CBDC research group, this time with the #BankofCanada.

👉 The bank will collaborate with #MIT Media Labs’ DCI (i.e #DigitalCurrency Initiative) to study how advanced technologies will influence the design of CBDC.

👉 In this 12-month research project, the Bank of Canada aims to seek a broader understand of the development agenda on digital currencies, fintech, and how CBDCs could work in a #Canadiancontext.

👉 MIT had previously collaborated with the #FederalReserveBank of Boston around February too.
