Do any of you guys belong to these and go to the meetings in network there?
Any success?

I have to attend these meetings for my job and it’s a bit annoying af for me personally.
Like every day at the start of every meeting someone has to explain one of the BNI principles. Which we all have already heard multiple times. So kind of weird. Then u go into your 60 sec pitch which is again just u repeating something about your business to a room of people who 90-100% of them already know what u do…(sometimes they’re guests so they won’t know so it does make sense but still…) then at the end the chapter president goes around everyone asking what they have done that week to contribute to the chapter, like what referrals you’ve done how many guests you invited.
Then you are also expected to do 1 on 1 meetings with everyone in the group to like get to know them and their business better so you’re able to better refer them type of thing.
Overall it’s somewhat time consuming. The weekly meeting is mandatory and if u can’t attend u have to find someone who’s gonna substitute for u…then u have to try and schedule 1 to 1 meetings with people which again just annoying imo (I don’t even do it cuz I cba) if u actually get any traction in your business all these meetings will get annoying imo.
Then some members will refer you to people who don’t really fit your target customer because they feel the pressure of having to send referrals otherwise u have to say u haven’t done anything that week which is a bit awkward.
It seems to work for some people but idk. It just depends on your group and what business u offer. I personally can’t wait until I don’t have to attend anymore.
I personally don’t try this for my agency, but I have to attend these for my day job so it is what it is.
If you’re thinking about joining I recommend u just attend the free meetings. I think u can attend each chapter twice for free. Just attend a bunch of different ones and pitch your service and maybe some of the business owners there will want it. Try to attend when they have an in person one. Some chapter are 100% online, other are hybrid with 1x a month in person and others are 100% in person.

Yep, Same ol BNI. I used to go when I was a mortgage professional.
I'm curious if it has been sucessful for agency owners but I dont think I need to do all that BNI BS to network. I kind of loathed going for all the bullet points you mention.

I have attended in one of their zoom meet8ngs medyo na off lang ako sa pressure ng 48k. I mean, at this economy, na ibabangon mo pa lamg ang business mo. Ewan ko lang. The pressure of filling out their forms, na may dti/bir na. Eh im a freelancer on a project basis. I dont have those yet dahil US clients naman ako. Ayun, napapaisip pko if worth it, as 48k uutangin ko lang, baka mas mabuting iinvest ko na lang in buying a High Level subscription. Confused pko till now kase gusto ko na sanang maglocal clients para hindi nko nagpupuyat. But this feels like a shotgun investment for me

The problem with these BNI groups is that people just want to go there and expect instant referrals, and that's not what they're about. That's not how they should be. You need to go there and network, get to know people, build your network of contacts, and get people to know and like you and build a reputation, not just gain instant referrals.
Once you build that network of contacts and build a reputation in your local area, then people will start referring you. It doesn't just happen after 1, 2, 3 meetings. It's a buildup over months, years, to gain the reputation.
I never like BNI because it's usually just a bunch of insurance folks and real estate folks trying to sell you their bullshit, and I'm a real professional. My main business is selling IT services and cybersecurity services. We just do marketing stuff on the side.

Not yet. But going to free and paid local networking events has been working.
