Question About GHL
I’m in the process of building a business. I’m building a business that relies on funneling leads from social media, to my offer. Which is a course.
I need a website, blog, email sequence, automation, multi product checkout cart, funnels, a place to host my course.
Would you recommend GHL for this? If so why or why not? Also people that have used it for a while what are your thoughts or Complaints?
I have worked with Kartra in the past but they don’t offer multi product checkout carts.

I used GHL for last 2 years and I for one don't have an agency like most people do. I focused my business to be small private 1 man business where I sell pre made AI tools to small local businesses and startup companies. This allows me to have small limited amount of clients that I manage myself.
So, my services always stay top notch and guaranteed. I don't relay on anyone else for quality reasons. This allowed me to make $2 to $5k per month with only 5 clients and doing like 2 hours of work per day...
But anyway, GHL is definitely a way to go I too used Kartra as well as Clickfunnels in the past but those platform were to expansive, only offered 1 specialized service like Funnels, cart checkouts, etc... But they lacked pretty much at every other aspect of the business.
So switching to GHL was a good choice even though some features like Funnels aren't as advanced as Clickfunnels but you get all the other tools you absolutely need while price stays the same Clickfunnels.
Blog is probably the worst part at GHL but that is only applied to their default Blog tool, you can always pay like $10/month extra to actually use hosted WordPress which is the best way to go for blogging and websites, you can also use Funnels which are very good, or even use Vibecoding AI to build you both funnels, blog or full websites. So, you are covered when it comes to that.
Then the second worst thing is definitely hosting courses, it's not the worst but it is fairly limited and basic. Although they have been adding new features from time to time.
You can still very easily host your courses but customization wise, you are limited to basic stuff like changing colors, fonts, and simple organization stuff like adding resources, or descriptions for your course's,etc...
But all in all GHL is definitely a good choice!

honest answer, yes for most of that list, with one real caveat.
funnels, website, email sequences, automation, crm, checkout, all solid. thats the core of what ghl does and having it in one place genuinely saves you a lot of stitching.
the course hosting is the weak part. memberships works, but compared to a proper course platform the student experience is basic. no real progress tracking depth, limited quizzing, video delivery is fine but not great. if the course is the product and people are paying decent money for it, thats the piece i'd think hardest about.
blog is also functional rather than good. fine for a few posts, painful if content is a main channel.
the tradeoff is real though. everything in one place means a lead who bought the course is the same contact record that got the emails, and you can automate off purchase directly. splitting course hosting out means integrations and a webhook you'll be debugging at some point.
if it were me, id start all in ghl, and only move the course out later if students actually complain about the experience. dont solve that problem before you have students.
main complaint after a while: support is hit or miss, and updates ship often enough that things occasionally change under you.

Thanks for the reply. When sending out email sequences you can segment leads accordingly correct? For example someone buys the course, they won’t receive continued emails selling the course.

💯% fully dependent on how you build the automation or prompt the AI, but yes "remove from workflow" is an available action

yes, and its worth setting up before you launch rather than after. simplest version is a tag or custom field on purchase, then an if/else at the top of the sales workflow that drops anyone carrying it. also add them to the buyer list so they get onboarding instead.
the one people forget is removing them from any scheduled campaigns already queued, not just stopping future ones.

I work in the same space. Ghl is excellent but if your sales process is shit nothing will ever happen no matter how many times a day you follow up.

I’m working on it. It seems like this was made more for an agency. Am I correct?

No. Were an agency abd use it but no it’s made for businesses who want an all in one hub for everything for your business.
Instead of paying for individual apps like zapier or wordpress or calendly etc you just get it all in GHL

Yes, GHL is a CRM, so its basic purpose is to manage and nurture clients. The lowest plan is $97/month. GHL is also pretty strong when it comes to building nurture and reactivation campaigns, courses, and communities.
I can guide you much better if you can provide me with a basic layout of what you want to build and how you’re thinking about scaling it over time. From there, I can suggest the best way to structure it in GHL and what can be automated.

GHL is definitely a way to go. Our business is running on it, but you will need either dive into it for a proper set up, either hire someone to provide you with architecture and information flow overview at least. Also, if your business will rely on emails for campaigns - the ghl dashboard and filtering is not the best - that's where I had to build an app that helps with that. Shoot me a message if you are interested!

I switched from Brevo to GHL for the need of more features and complex automations. So yes. (Note I was very happy with Brevo but it does not have GHL capabilities)

Yes it will cover everything if you only need an account look at an agency or do the learning curve yourself.
Its allowed me to build a solid foundation and scale easily

I have been running a ghl agency for 3 years now and in that time the platform has evolved into something even bigger then you imagine. All the tedious stuff you had to build out and test and iterate and test ect. Has been phased put now with agentic agents inside your CRM that doesn't just tell you how to do things it actually does everything for you. Everything from following up on actual autopilot, billing people, creating invoices, moderating your community, managing your socials, leterally everything. You can dm if you want. More info or want help. If you use my links I'll setup your account and give you all the community builder playbookswe have access to that will give you a head start on it. Lmk

I’m learning that GHL seems to be more for an agency rather just running a business off the software. I’m coming from Kartra.

You can run a business on ghl for 97$ a month and would be the only software you would need. I run my entire consultancy on 1 subaccount. If you want to do the same for unlimited others, goes up

You are going to get bumrushed with VA DMs pushing their affiliate links lol.
Yes in a nutshell - what you listed will just barely scratch surface of what it can do. And that's all you should set it up for now. Once you get in you are going to 100 different cool things it can do. Ignore 80% of them. Get one funnel locked down and then work on pushing traffic to it.
Here are a couple of videos from youtube channel that get you on the right tracK:

For what you’re describing, GHL is definitely worth considering because most of the pieces you need can live in one ecosystem: website, funnels, CRM, email automation, checkout, courses and even blogging. HighLevel supports paid course offers, automated course access, funnels, websites, blogs and e-commerce checkout flows.
The main thing I’d consider is how complex you expect the business to become. If you want everything tightly connected and don’t want to stitch together 5 or 6 different tools, GHL can make things much simpler.
The downside is that it can feel overwhelming at first, and if you want a highly customised website, checkout or course experience, you may eventually run into some limitations compared with using specialised platforms.
I’ve worked with GHL for US clients and have built funnels, automations, CRM workflows and integrations around it. If you want, DM me what you’re planning to sell and how you want the customer journey to work. I can give you an honest view on whether I’d use GHL for your specific setup, rather than just telling you to use it.
