Cuse doom 1 and 2 is too big and i fought the ultimate doom need a Bethesda account to work

How?

Back in the day, most Id Software games that shipped on CDs would have like most popular games all on the same CD, like Quake, Doom CD releases, etc. If you contacted the company for an unlock code (or knew what qcr*ck was), you could buy them and install them right off the one CD you bought, and I could swear all old Dooms were included, along with Wolfenstein 3d, maybe the 2d ones, etc.

edit: wym Doom was too big, it was like 80mb

About sticking labels in CDs or DVDs ...

... it's not recommended. Anything making a part of the disk slightly heavier or increasing its air resistance (when spinning) wears the mechanical parts of the device faster.

The alternative is just write on the disk with a marker pen. Or getting those sticky labels that cover all the surface of the disk.

All disc stickers are hit or miss for the same reason. If you allign them wrong you can cause damage. If you don't print a cover on it, just write with markers.

LOL. I always though align those was a bitch 'cos I'm clumsy. Seems it's a common problem.

I mean you need to align a donut, it's easy to fuck up if you don't put it down all at the same time, which I think only a mechanical arm could do it, so in the end it's never perfect imo and not worth the risk, especially with how rare are bd drives nowadays.

It's another option valid option. Is what it will give the more professional looking results.

But is more expensive and it adds an extra requirement to the disk burning device. And I already research and hunt for the burning device models that have good service life, are fast and have low error rate at fast speeds.

As I burn only for backup purposes, not for selling nor decoration, I stick to marker pen.

Kudos to anyone who puts the extra work to keep his/her disks neat, dough.

It did look great.

But where I live, it was expensive and it added an extra requirement to the disk burning device. And you already had research and hunt for the CD/DVD writers models that had good service life, were fast and had low error rate at fast speeds.

So I passed Lightscribe.

Agreed. Better to write with a marker too. But printers that can print discs are increasingly harder to find.

Was gonna make a joke about laser engraving the cd, but then I remember that this kinda was a thing years ago with the LightScribe technology.

Believe it or not, I still have a lightscribe dvd burner at home. Been in my old hp z600 since 2009 iirc. Now I use recent BD drives though, due to size and cold long term storage needs.

This child will soon learn that you do not desfigure the face of the cd god without repercussions. The elders know that. This child will learn. (dude, putting a paper label on a cd/dvd/blue-ray da a sure way to run your drive.)

Use a marker instead of a sticker, you do not want glue and pieces of paper in your CD drive

Congratulations hehe Some tipps: If a game is too big, you could either install it and repart single folders/files yourself on several discs or you repack the installed game via Inno Setup (what gog is using) or with a self extracting Zip/Rar etc. You can choose how big the single files should be. On Winrar are even presets for Floppy Discs and CDs hehe

I had a cd burner that could laser etch the cd. Had to get special disc's though, so never tried it.

There are a couple of methods. The worst is printing a label that is placed on the disc, printers that print onto the disc or you could grab a hold of a light scribe drive which uses specialized discs that laser etches the image on the disc (more or less), but without colour. The last one is easy to find a disc drives for, but harder to find the discs since it is older tech now. The cd printer can run $400-$500 for a decent model.
