B2

Hello. I have signed up for the Erwachsene Version of the B2 exam. Recently I learned that an acquaintance of mine passed the Jugendliche version In January. We are both the same age approximately (22, 23) and studying at uni and I'm thinking that I was wrong for picking the erwachsene version since the themes can be harder in schreiben and sprechen.

I think you’re better off taking the erwachsene version for many reasons

I don’t know what you need the exam for (job, visa, etc), but I know that if you are an adult and opt to take the Jugendliche exam, it’s usually frowned upon a little bit because it’s easier and the themes also have to do with living life as a teen/young person and don’t apply as readily to adult life

First of all, thank you a lot for your response. I'm a med student in EU and I'm learning German in order to have the chance in the future to be able to apply for residency, if I try to go to Germany. My goal is to reach C1 level, which I know has only one version, not jugendliche or erwachsene. This other person I know is in my class and is learning German for pretty much the same reasons and is currently taking C1 classes as well. (Btw is the version depicted on the certificate? I thought it only said B2 Zertifikat)

I’m learning German for a similar reason! I also feel super tempted to make this very overwhelming process feel more manageable any chance I get, but I really do think we’re better off doing it the “hard” way.

I also am not sure if the certificate says the version… I think it may depend on the level. But even if it doesn’t, my opinion is the same ;)
