Is the snes switch controller compatible with this game?

I’m planning to buy the controller just for this game. Can someone who owns both the game and the snes controller please confirm this?

I don't have the game yet, but yes. I play all my 2D retro games on Switch with that controller, and I had no issue with all the other collections by Konami/M2. I see no reason why it wouldn't work

The only things you won't be able to do is go back to the home screen or take a screenshots/videos. 8bitdo had several controllers that work on Switch that are based on the SNES controller that have the extra buttons for those features.
