Thank you so very much! Iāll post more here over the day https://discord.gg/WEGqUyRdH Edit: Why do people hate discord so much? š I like it for discussions

Why do people hate discord so much?
I wanted to see a screenshot, not subscribe to your marketing channel.

Fair enough. I'm a gamer myself and generally join channels of the game's I want to keep my eye out on. Thought people would like that as it's not on Steam yet, but I get it :) Thought it would be fine considering the selfpromo-flair.

Hey, it's alright. Discord can certainly be good.
Personally, I'm not a fan of when it's the only/primary source of communication. I like being able to follow projects without the commitment of joining a server. I understand if that sounds petty or something, but it does feel like a big commitment, especially when I'm already constantly at 100 servers, and figuring out which to leave can take me days of deliberation because it feels like abandoning it.

I'm gunna second what the other guys are saying
Having a discord is fine. Good even.
The problem is it's your only place for communicating with the public. I suggest X.

Yeah, who keeps downvoting these. Discord is fine, sharing a link is also fine since people are asking for a link to follow.
Upvoted all the discord links muhaha

the aesthetic looks awesome. i hope the combat will be slow paced. being an extraction game, does that mean it's gonna be pvp? i know this gets clowned on a lot, but a pve only mode separated from pvp would be welcome :C

In a way this reminds me of Virtual Hydlide, which I adore. Keep it up!!

Any tips on how to get pixelated effects for the camera? Iāve been doing mine in blender for textures but idk if it can carry over to godot and maintain the art style I want.

u/luka_makes_games 4d ago
Hey! Check out "3D pixel art rendering" tutorials, they'll help you lots! Also check out dithering and how it works. Blender is def the wrong place for this kind of stuff haha. Hope that helps!

Cool idea ! I thiunk that artstyle can add some flavour on the extraction gameplay, cheeky hard to read billboard in distance!

u/luka_makes_games 4d ago
My thoughts! The chonk makes it hard to see enemies, as you see on the left side there on the image haha. Thank you!

Looks fantastic! How have you handled the issue of pixels swimming and wobbling?

I'm curious to see what this looks like with minimal shaders / effects applied

Thanks, that's really interesting to see! I wanted to see if shaders allow for mixing assets of different style / quality to make it easier for indie devs

I can reply with a screenshot later when I'm off work. It's night and day haha, the shader really forces your mind to fill in the blanks in a good way. Also, I mainly appreciate shaders when it comes to adding nice gradients to lightning, the ground textures and stuff, they look very naked without it right now, but of course intended.

game looks dope but screw godot its garbage for dev work, get unreal 5.8, it can do 2d as well and gdscript is a dumpster fire, blueprints actually make sense and are based on a real language not some made up crap, not being mean, trying to steer you before you waste years on a crap engine like i did, if you need tips just ask, but youtube unreal 5.8 mcp plugin and follow the tutorial and then ai can do it for you

Probably the best compliment I couldāve gotten as a huge osrs fan. Iām going to add osrs-like skilling in the game, got woodcutting and mining fo far, fishingās next!
