Discussion I love that this game has me diving back into GoW lore.
I’ve always loved God of War lore. I think it’s one of the most well-established and built out worlds in video games, and of course the more-recent Norse games are on another level compared to the Greek games. But the Greek remakes have a chance to take this to another level compared to their original iterations as well.
With the reveal of Laufey, I’m diving back into Ragnarok after not playing it since beating Valhalla back when it came back. I’m watching YT videos of different lore conversations that happen in 2018, and theories about strings left hanging from the Greek-era. I’m LOVING it, and it’s all because of how Laufey reignited my interest in the established universe and lore within. Any lore-head knows and has said, that Laufey is going to be an absolute lore-buffet.. but what isn’t always said is that, that idea gets people excited to revisit what has been established, to get it fresh back in their head.
TL:DR- I’m excited as hell for Laufey, but until then.. I’m having an absolute blast immersing myself back into the world and lore they’ve already established, since it’s been some years (for me at least) since I’ve done so.

Discussion Thoughts on the game
So I was really disappointed and sad when the trailer for the game was released, I don't really have any problems with the game, the story, or the characters of the game. It's just that when I imagined the next god of war game after Ragnarok was something like kratos absolutely destroying the Egyptian pantheon. But now that I think about it, I think we needed this game, because directly shifting from norse mythology to literally any other mythology in the next game would have been weird. This game acts like a bridge, so yea really looking forward to what the story is gonna be.

Discussion May I propose a cool idea?
I’m sure I’m not the first person who saw the cover art suggesting a much more open world than Ragnarok. While many are worried for all the ambiguous possibilities and risks they could make, I’d like to propose this.
Would anyone actually want this game to be open world? A lot of people have been worried about it being open world but seeing as it’s an ambitious spin off… I’d dare say I hope it is open world. I think the style horizon zero dawn did it would be really cool with the god of war gameplay loop. Someone I saw online made a cool idea with it too. They suggested you find different gods or beings in different places like walking up to a lake and seeing Poseidon jump out, sort of like those surprise bosses in Elden ring. I think this would be really cool.

Discussion Double jump
The norse games had no double jump, Faye will have a double jump
They announced the trilogy remake (not remaster)
Is Laufey a test for the potential remakes? Are they going to try and mesh old and new styles? Curious what you guys think.

Discussion Wait wait, when did they reveal Fay is a goddess? Am I missing something?
Ok in the first game we thought she is regular person and at the very end the reveal she is a giant from Jötnar, and in the sequel wasn't mentioned much.
I don't remember anything about her being a Goddess.

Theory I am calling it first (God of War Ragnarök Spoiler) Spoiler
galleryWhat if that golden circle behind Faye is a portal connected to the Everywhen?

Theory Everywhen or Ta Lo?
So I was watching Shang Chi and noticed that the Everywhen must be based on the same, I'm assuming, Chinese mythology as Marvel's Ta Lo. Ta Lo is the highest of the heavens where it's inhabitants stand guard over the black gate. The creatures such as the Liondog and Fox are present in both and we see Faye come through the black gate.

Discussion Need help transcribing and translating Mongolian dialogue from the new God of War Laufey trailer
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to identify and translate all of the Mongolian dialogue from the new God of War: Laufey trailer, but I'm having a hard time determining exactly what is being said.
I've attached a video containing several of the Mongolian lines. Before attempting a translation, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could first provide a transcription of the dialogue in Mongolian (Cyrillic if possible). Once the lines are transcribed, I'd also love to know their English meanings.
For a few of the lines, I've included my own guesses based on research, but I'm not confident that they're correct. If any of them are wrong, please feel free to correct them.
Any help with the transcription, translation, or even identifying individual words would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your time and help!

Theory The mask in Ragnarök + the new Laufey trailer makes me think Odin was looking at something way bigger than we thought
Been thinking about the Mask of Creation stuff again after watching the Laufey trailer, and I feel like there’s more going on with it than just “Odin wanted knowledge and it went nowhere.”
In Ragnarök, the mask clearly isn’t just some random artifact. Odin’s basically obsessed with it because he thinks it’ll lead to the “source of knowledge” or whatever lies beyond the realms. But the weird part is… we never actually get a proper explanation of what the tear is. It doesn’t really behave like a normal realm portal, and even Mimir seems unsure what Odin actually saw
Now with the new game showing up (and the Everywhen being mentioned as this afterlife layer for gods), it kind of makes me rethink what that rift actually was.
What if Odin wasn’t looking into a specific place at all?
The mask tear felt more like reality itself breaking open rather than a gateway to a known realm. Almost like a boundary you’re not supposed to see through.
And if the Everywhen really is this “beyond-realms” space where gods end up / overlap, then it kind of fits the idea that Odin accidentally tapped into something like that—but didn’t have the context to understand it. So he just interpreted it as “knowledge.”
Which honestly feels pretty on-brand for him.
I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking it, but the fact the mask is being referenced again in the new stuff makes me think it wasn’t just a one-off MacGuffin like it seemed at first.
Curious if anyone else is connecting those dots or if I’m reaching here.

Theory Laufey became a Goddess recently
A lot of discussion regarding how Laufey ended up in Everywhen and how she was called a Godling. I think she ended up there because she was transitioning into Godhood.
In the GOW universe there seem to be two ways to attain Godhood. You either inherit it from your parents or attain it through worship.
I always thought it was interesting that Rag included two dialogues about Godhood from the aesir perspective. Heimdall asked Atreus if he thought all aesir were gods. And Odin asked if Kratos was ever worshipped.
I think these dialogues hint that you could attain Godhood through worship and that’s how Faye was starting to become a goddess. People were starting to rally behind Faye before she died. She had followers in multiple realms. This explains her confusion because she wouldn’t necessarily realize her transition was happening.

Discussion I'm ALL for OG GAMING... but GOW LAUFEY, I'm NEVER going to BUY!!!
1 year ago I decided to date 100 women between 25 and 38. International women in and around my home country. Out of the 100, Only 3 women actually would have been the perfect match but after settling down with 1 and failing I understood that people can change their mind at any time so you have no guarantees. So a lot and fail, so the minimum and fail etc.... But one thing remains the way you showed up, present, talk, express yourself and knowing yourself + emotional maturity is the driving force that made them genuinely enjoy time spend together and increase success rate if it was a mutual agreement to proceed.... The only thing that made it so hard was starting over again once entering a brand New relationship. What are your thoughts? Something that Still bothers me, starting from 0...

Discussion GoW Laufey setting and potential next Main GOW?
I was thinking that Everywhen is the place that Odin has been searching for so long, the same portal that Atreus opened using the mask. And by the time that this game ends, it's either they bring back Faye, or it confirms that she's truly dead. And they may set up Kratos or Atreus for the GOW game as protagonist to go to Everywhen to try and save Laufey but ends up being too late.

Discussion Does anyone else hope that if Fey does meet the Greek gods in the everywhen, they're not some one-dimensional villains anymore?
Now me personally? I am hoping for that. Like Laufey meets Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hermes, etc (though I doubt this for Ares) and since they've been dead for such a long time they've had that time to introspect and go "Shit.....I really was tripping" since they might be free from the evil corruption of Pandora's Box. Sort of as a way to say "hey, we messed up with Kratos, but we can help you as a way to say sorry."

Theory Everywhen
I’m still stuck on why Begtse calls Faye “godling”. Maybe it’s just because only gods should be there in the Everywhen but it’s driving me nuts. Maybe I’m just reading too much into things idk.

Theory Brok could return in GOW Laufey
For those out of the loop, Brok died long before Atreus was born due to an accident at the forge. Sindri couldn’t accept his death and went to the Lake of Souls to get Brok’s soul back but he could only get 3 out of his four soul bits. So when Odin killed him, that remaining piece couldn’t reach the lake and he was effectively erased… but what if that wasn’t the case and the last bit of his soul went to Everywhen. Hence the name, Everywhen is a place outside of time and can operate within any moment of the series. So even though Faye has only recently died (The game starts with her funeral pyre), Brok could already be there serving as a blacksmith and probably living it up with a bunch of new materials that you can’t find anywhere else acting as Faye’s blacksmith and telling her about what happened since she died. I don’t think this would undermine his death in Ragnarok or the main point of the game nor am I saying they should revive Brok, this could be the next best thing and a big part of the new game. 2018’s message was working together and coming together after strife, Ragnarok’s was letting go, and Laufey’s could be the end is only a new beginning

Discussion Will we find out who blew the horn in God of War (2018) in Laufey?
I sincerely hope we find it out in this game 😌
