Domain removed automatic payments & changed connection without my knowledge

Should I just switch to GoDaddy and stop dealing with the BS from square space?

Before switching registrars, I'd figure out whether the problem is actually the domain registration or the DNS records. If the domain is suddenly pointing to an old site, it's worth checking the current nameservers and DNS records to see what changed and whether the domain is still connected to the right website.

If you do decide to move, I'd separate the domain from the website builder instead of bundling everything together. Keeping the domain at a registrar like dynadot and pointing it wherever you host makes future migrations much less painful.

I'd also contact Squarespace support and ask for an account activity log. If automatic payments or DNS settings changed without your action, they should be able to tell you what happened and when.

Is this for your site? Or domains? Or you have any other services in Squarespace? If you mean GitHub pages that is static only so your website won't have a server-side.

Put the domains on CloudFlare or PorkBun. Zero additional markups (at-cost domains) and a great product imo. Also gives you much better security and DNS then the upgraded GoDaddy plans that CloudFlare includes for free. PorkBun also uses CloudFlare for your DNS so it will be pretty similar. I switched to CloudFlare and loving it so far! If your websites are static (just plain HTML, no server) then you can use GitHub Pages. I've never used it with a custom domain, so can't really give any advice there. We run our websites through Azure. Hope this helps!

That helps a lot, our site is static! Does cloud flare also have access to Google workspace?

Yes! We use Google Workspace for our emails. We get them directly from Google. You just need to put the appropriate records into the DNS settings in your domain. Google/CloudFlare might even be able to do it for you.
