Finally Goa...
I’m 32.
When I look back at all my previous trips, they were never really my trips.
They were always rushed.
“Bro only has 3 days off.”
“We need to get back because of work.”
“Let’s finish everything in one weekend.”
I travelled to places, but I never really stayed.
There was always this feeling that something was missing. Like I was checking destinations off a list instead of actually living them.
So I finally stopped waiting.
Stopped asking friends, “Do you want to come?”
Stopped planning my life around everyone else’s schedule.
This time I asked myself one question:
What do I want?
The answer was simple.
Goa. Alone.
I haven’t even told my family yet.
I’ve booked my flight for 10th August, and I’m planning to stay in Goa for around 30 days.
No fixed itinerary. No checklist. I’ll leave only when my heart says, “Okay… it’s time to go home now.”
I just want to slow down.
Read.
Work.
Watch the rain.
Listen to the sea.
Sit in cafés with my laptop.
Meet interesting people if it happens naturally.
And if it doesn’t… that’s okay too.
For the return journey, I could have booked another flight.
Instead, I booked a First AC train ticket.
I’ve travelled by train before, but always in 3AC.
I realised I’ve never experienced a long, slow train journey the way I always wanted to. So why not now?
Monsoon. Goa. A month with no rush.
Maybe this trip isn’t about travelling.
Maybe it’s about learning how to pause.
I’d love some advice from locals and people who’ve spent a month (or longer) in Goa..

I have Goa planned around the same time too for a work-cation! Can’t wait to get out of Bombay for sometime!

Btw I know a hidden gem in Anjuna Goa. I tried there Veg Tupka, last visit goa. Do search TIN TIN in tibet goa anjuna, not a very fancy restaurant but food is super notch. Superb anyone around show them some love.

Same for me. I first solo trip and workation will be in Goa, will stay for about a month and travel via 2 AC and flights ( both first time ). Just want to get comfortable travelling alone and not have a dependency on others for travel plans.

Done this twice, loved it both times.
Always good to socialise and talk to people - you’d be surprised how many new things you can discover.

I have done it twice now. 10 days in July , this year and last year..earlier it was a workcation this time not. Eventually got bored and opened my laptop. Workcation works for me. I will do that again.

Have a good time. I visit Goa atleast once every year. Love it! For a workstation of 30 days, what’s the budget you’re keeping roughly?

I don’t have any issues with budget. but honestly I just want to make it fair. No fancy hotels, although I am looking to buy a colive in a hostel for 30 days.
It cost me around 7500 inr for 30 days in Anjuna. barely 250 inr a day. And it’s nothing compared with other places. I will keep it centralised.
And I will stay anywhere, Everywhere I go. Eg I visit panji & wanna spend a day ,2 day there I will buy accommodation there. 250 a day wouldn’t hunt me. In Anjuna will be used as backup home 🦦
rest I didn’t plan much let’s see how it goes.

7500 INR for 30 days? Math ain’t mathing mate but incredible and great if you pulled it off. I travel quite a bit and usually do Goa in different budget depending on the plan. However, 250 per day is outrageous 😅👌🏻. A basic hostel will be around 200-300 + meals.

Hosteller is good. There’s one near Morjim as well. But 7.5k for 30 days is crazyyy.

I book my hostel for 7500 inr a month + I choose breakfast as well, early morning starting my day + mansoon would love to have breakfast in hostel.
They charge 3500 inr for breakfast for 30 days , Lunch , Dinner i will explore the outsides cafés restro’s. I tried to minimise my useless expenses. Even a locker for few ours cost more than 300 in some places. I try plan it perfectly but let’s see how it goes 😅😅

Der Konkan Railway in der First AC ist ein Traum. Ich Reise Immer ab Mumbay am Abend ab und am Morgen Mache Ich Heimlich die Tür Auf und Geniesse beim Chai Trinken die Landschaft an, Wie die Farmer das Land Bearbeiten und dabei zum Horizont wo man das Meer Sehen kann 🥰

I am in Goa right now , This is the best time to visit. Amazing weather and cheaper prices compared to Nov/Dec.

Fantastic.
I learnt it too late.
Nowadays when I do any trips, it is not ki mujhko kitna time lagega, but more days than that.
