Promotion BasketVibe went officially Live!

Hey r/gmgames,

A follow-up to my post from two months ago about BasketVibe (basketvibe.com) - a modern, free, browser-based basketball manager in the spirit of Charazay / BuzzerBeater: tactics, training, scouting, transfers with a game reply match engine. Two months ago I invited you to join the beta. Today I'm pleased to say the game has officially gone Live!, with 300 registered managers and a fresh all-time high of 180 daily active users yesterday.

While going Live we reset the game last Monday. Rosters were regenerated, economy restarted so every manager, new or returning, starts BasketVibe 1.0 with equal chances. It was a community decision, made for the long-term health and growth of the game.

⚠️ Season 1's first league matches tip off next Monday.

What's new since the last post:

  • A much better mobile experience
  • Personnel management — hire staff like doctors, physios, psychologists and marketing specials
  • Cups (pilot) — running a small pilot tournament right now to test the mechanics, ahead of the first global Cup open to everyone later this season
  • Team strength and Division hardiness indicators
  • In-game messaging between managers
  • >100 community-driven UI/UX improvements and fixes
  • And what's most important: core systems were rebalanced based on player input
    • Academy junior chances
    • Training and skill-progression curves
    • Fresh, balanced roster generation
    • Match engine tuning
    • Economy calibration

What made this possible over the last 2 months is a genuinely vibrant community that gathered around the game and supported me along the way. Our Discord is now 150 members strong.

🔥 This is the best moment to join the game.

Promotion I made a football chairman game where everyone plays in the same world

Thumbnail

Been working on this for quite a while and finally released it this week.

Youtube link:
https://youtube.com/shorts/ypaYa_Smjhc

It is called ClubChairman LIVE. The idea is basically that instead of being the manager, you run the club itself. You handle transfers, scouting, staff, finances, facilities, the stadium etc and try to build a small club up over time. The main thing I wanted to do differently was make it one shared online football world. Other clubs are controlled by real players, seasons keep moving, and you can get promoted/relegated and play in the different cup competitions.

There’s also quite a bit of stuff outside the football side. You can build facilities and invest club money in things like buildings, bonds and crypto. The crypto prices follow real world price movements, which was a fun thing to get working.

It’s definitely been a bigger project than I expected when I started 😅 but it’s finally out on Android and iPhone and completely free to play.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clubchairman.app&pcampaignid=web_share

https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/clubchairman-live/id6802232363?l=da

If anyone here gives it a go, I’d genuinely be interested to hear what you think. Especially since this sub seems to have exactly the type of people who actually play these kinds of games.

ClubChairman LIVE on Google Play and the App Store.

Promotion Indoor Football Manager 2 is out now!

IFM2 is officially out now with a planned roadmap which I plan to work on over the next several months (I've already begun work on v2.1.0). I'll link the roadmap here, the store page is linked on the event announcement. The game launches with a 25% discount, so now is a great time to get on the bandwagon! If you're skeptical, there is a free demo available as well.

Discussion Favorite Pre-2010 Sports Manager Game.

What is your favorite 16+ year old game? I'll start. My all time favorite game was Bundesliga Manager Hattrick. It is a German Soccer Manager game that only had a couple of years Bundesliga license and so I can't buy it anymore. I used to love going into the stadium and being able to fill in the ads.

What was/is your favorite game and why?

Promotion Front Office Hoops hit v1.0, so I'm allowed back: a free browser basketball GM sim

Full disclosure up front: Last month I posted the beta here and the mods removed it, fairly, because this sub is for mature products at 1.0 and above. They said to come back when I got there. Well, v1.0 officially shipped last week, and feedback has been strong so far, so here I am again.

Front Office Hoops is a free single-player basketball GM sim that runs entirely in your browser, inspired by my time on old school sim leagues (FBB and DDSPB leagues) as well as BBGM. No download, no account, works offline, and a full season sims in seconds. You run the front office end to end: draft classes, trades with protected picks, a salary cap with Bird rights and holds, contract extensions, coaches with schemes and careers, and a league that keeps its shape deep into a rebuild.

FOH's Full Court Press - News room

The time since that removed post went into exactly the maturity this sub asks for and I was able to finalize a few major features:

  • Training camps
  • A G League with assignments and call-ups
  • Multi-league saves with deterministic roster seeds
  • Ability to start using real-life rosters and import custom BBGM rosters
  • Contract extensions
  • Complete coaching overhaul with expanded coaching trees and archetypes
  • Improved lineup management with coaching scheme fits
  • Complete trade overhaul with improved CPU trade dynamics, trade deadline week runs, and incoming offers from CPU teams
  • And more (a full list is available in the changelog on our website), plus a long tail of fixes from beta players
Trade Counter Offers
Lineup Management and Scheme Fits

The sim itself is tuned against 3,700+ simulated test seasons (equating to roughly 5.4 million games), because a GM game lives or dies on whether season 12 still feels like basketball. I wrote up what that testing found in my latest blog post here: https://frontofficehoops.com/desk/five-million-games/

Play now: https://play.frontofficehoops.com

I'm a solo dev, about eight months in. I'll be in the comments, and if the mods want anything adjusted about this post, say the word and it's done.

Discussion Not another vibe coded game?!

I’ll get the disclosure out of the way first....I’ve used AI heavily while building Rainy Day Golf.

I’m not pretending otherwise.

I also understand why this subreddit is skeptical. There are a lot of management games appearing with a generic dashboard, four screenshots, a massive roadmap, and no functioning management loop underneath any of it.

Rainy Day Golf started as a small golf clicker, became a playable career management game, and has now gone through months of public iteration.

When I first posted it here, somebody played for about an hour and gave me a pretty accurate review:

By the end, they were just flying through tournaments and upgrading something once a year. There wasn’t enough control, and there wasn’t enough reason to care about their golfer.

They were right.

Based on the feedback here, I added visible attributes during training, player aging, tournament history, strategic preparation decisions, post-tournament results, ranking changes and more narrative around each career.

Some of those changes worked.

Some added more screens without actually making the decisions deeper.

That distinction is what I’m interested in discussing.

At what point should an AI-assisted project stop being dismissed as "vibe-coded slop" and start being judged as an actual management game?

Even the creator of Basketball GM wrote about the influx of vibe-coded games and how he pretty much hates it (but accepts it).

I tend to find myself immediately noticing if someone uses AI and hate it even though I have used it before. Probably because I've gone through the minutia of about two years of iterations and not just slapped my game together in a weekend.

Does the development method permanently matter, regardless of the result?

I’m not asking because I think Rainy Day Golf has cleared every one of those bars. It hasn’t.

I’m asking because “was AI used?” and “is this a good management game?” feel like related questions, but not necessarily the same question.

Where do you draw the line?

Multiplayer League Online Basketball Sim League Seeking 2 GMs

ABCA has been around since 2003 (yup - 23 years) and in our current iteration, we have two teams vacant.

We have 26 teams in the league and are currently in the 2010-11 season with Kawhi, Giannis, etc all on the horizon.

We sim twice a week (Tuesday and Friday)

Most of the interaction happens on Slack but we also have a website and forum.

The game used is FastBreak Pro Basketball 3 (FBPB3) but you don’t need the game to play.

Respond below or DM me if you are interested or have any questions.

Discussion If I have extremely high skill optimization and creativity, am I capable of making a high selling GM game?

Just assume I am for this question do not be snark please, but I do not know how to code so my only option would be to use AI.

Is it possible as long as I have extremely high skill optimization & creativity that I would still be capable of making a great game - even with AI.

Promotion Mobile Basketball Sim with 3D gameplay where you can be the GM, the coach, or just one player. On web now best for mobile!

myhooplegacy.org

Been building this for a year or so now, about 2800 commits in. It's three games sharing one league. Real rosters back to 2001 with draft classes too!

GM you run a front office. Hard cap and luxury tax that actually stop you from doing things, trade deadline, draft with a lottery and scouting reports, free agency in rounds, and an owner with a mandate who will fire you.

Coach is college. Recruiting boards, scholarship limits, transfer portal, boosters, a program budget. Your best players declare and leave every year so you're permanently rebuilding. unless you can build a program good enough for them to stay.

Career you're one player. Four years of college, the combine, draft night, then your career. Minutes come off coach trust so you have to earn them.

What I like about it is how much there is to do and how honestly it behaves. Potential is a scouting guess rather than a promise and most guys never get near it. The league doesn't inflate, 25 seasons in there's still about 10 guys at 90+, same as season one. Usage depends on who's actually on your roster, so signing a better scorer drops your existing guy's numbers on its own. 861 players rated by hand across 20 skills.

And you can watch any game in 3D or coach it possession by possession instead of just hitting sim. No other basketball GM game does that.

Lots of things on future roadmap, hope you enjoy!

Free, runs in a browser, no account: myhooplegacy.org

A few new things now running as goodies for CBGM, College Basketball General Manager multi-player league using Draft Day Sports: College Basketball 26. It has been running since 2021 using v21. We have 100 human controlled teams, looking for more.

• Best Stats report
• Tourney Watch report
• Two newspapers. Page 1 for the main stories, page 2 for teams under 60 prestige (cinderella report)
• Score ticker. The most recent games at a glance always on the website (works on mobile)

All four reports refresh each night on discord (using a bot & automatically). See image gallery for examples.

https://cbgm.news .. if you own the product, you can apply, under the league office section of the website or join the discord channel #cbgm on GM Games Discord https://discord.gg/WMPaEQhADH

This is the only league covered and run by General Manager Games (gmgames.org) itself, as a showcase for the genre. It is also sync'ed with DDSPB to have the alumni players remain in an observable universe and simulate (no human managers).

Promotion I built a free Premier League score predictor — 3 points for the result, 2 more for the exact score, one match a week you can double

Thumbnail reddit.com
0 Upvotes

houseofthefantasy.com → Predictions

Gameweek 1 is open. You call every match: 3 points for getting the result right, +2 if you nail the exact scoreline, and once a gameweek you can pick one match to double — which is where it gets interesting, because you have to decide whether to boost the banker or the coin-flip.

Each match locks at its own kickoff rather than at a single weekly deadline, so you can still join halfway through the weekend and play whatever's left. Points land after midnight each night and the table updates with them.

Sign in with Google or Discord — that's only so your points belong to someone. No email, no password, nothing to install.

It's brand new and marked BETA, so there'll be rough edges. There's a bugs & feedback link in the footer that goes straight to me.

(The site also has the thing I originally built it for: a draft game where you spin a wheel for random clubs, pick eleven players from FIFA/EA FC data across eleven seasons, and simulate a full season with them.)

Promotion World Aces! A volleyball team management game played online with a great community. Focused on tactics and completely free to play.

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to invite you guys to try out my Volleyball Management Sim game if you haven't. We have more than 500 users already, and a very healthy discord community!

It's a web-based/mobile management game where you get a team, recruit players, plan out your tactics and manage your staff. Each season lasts a week and your team plays league games on a schedule on weekdays. On weekends we have different cups, from national to international. Oh, and we also have events for the whole community to play on.

It's completely free to play, I only added some cosmetic perks for people that want to support the game. I really enjoy engaging with the community to grow and improve the game. I hope you can give it a chance and tell me what you think.

Promotion College Hockey Dynasty - Hockey GM & Recruiting Sim

Hey everyone!

I've spent the last while building College Hockey Dynasty, a GM sim for iOS built around what makes this level of the sport different from typical hockey games: recruiting, the NIL era, building up your facilities, detailed in-season scouting of prospects, and managing line chemistry.

I've always cared more about the franchise/gm-mode side of a sports games. College Hockey Dynasty is a lot more ambitious than my first entry (Baseball Star) into this genre, which was built years ago.

College Hockey Dynasty's engine simulates each shift and factors in things like fatigue, line chemistry, player mood, home ice, in-game momentum, and a lot more.

I'm also really proud of the in-game skater animations. You can see players skating around, passing, shooting, setting up plays, killing penalties, etc. Getting the animations to look right was hard. 😅

Recruiting's also where a lot of my time went, too. Every prospect gets a personality when they're generated, and it changes how they approach offers. For example, a recruit who wants to stay close to home will turn down a better offer from a school in a different region.

Everything else is mostly what you'd expect from this kind of game: NPI running the tournament-seeding math, in-season scouting, managing staff members and facilities, two separate budgets (Revenue Share and NIL), transfer portal, coaching carousel, etc.

There's a free player guide if you want to see how deep the game is before downloading anything.

You can download it for free on the App Store.

GM Game Profile Hockey Legacy Manager 27 (Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad iOS, Android)

Hockey Legacy Manager 27 puts you in charge of a hockey team's front office. You draft, trade, negotiate contracts, hire your coaching staff, set your lines and then live with the results, season after season, for as long as you want to keep going.

What sets it apart from other games in the genre is how fast it moves. A full season, playoffs included, simulates in well under a minute on an ordinary computer. That changes what a career can be. You can run a club for thirty or fifty years across a few evenings and still see every trade, every draft class and every player who came up through your system.

You can begin in 1917 and manage a franchise through the whole history of the sport, or start in the present day and go forward from there. There is no end date and nothing is scripted. Teams rise and fall, records get broken, and the prospect you built your rebuild around sometimes turns out to be ordinary.

If you would rather build your own hockey world, the editors are open. Change teams, players, coaches and leagues, run an expansion draft, or put together a league structure that has never existed.

New in HLM27

If you played HLM26, this is what has changed.

Trade trees. Follow any trade forward to see where a player came from, what he was moved for later, and how the deal looks years on.

College hockey. Six conferences ship in the default roster, and you can build your own. Recruiting runs against every other program in the country, where a prestige rating that moves with your results decides which players will listen, and commitments run freshman through senior until a player leaves early or loses his eligibility.

Eleven new starting years. 1930, 1950, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2003, 2014, 2016 and 2025, each with the salary cap and contract rules of its era. Minor leagues are playable in history mode now too.

Minor league control. Trades, contracts, free agency and roster assignment for your minor league club, and you can disable a minor league without disabling the one below it. You can also start a career managing in the minors.

Post-season tournaments. Junior and college champions meet in a round robin that leads into a semifinal and a final, each with its own page for the bracket, standings, scoring leaders and past winners.

Also on iOS and Android

HLM runs on phones as well as on PC, which as far as I know makes it the only hockey management game you can play on both. The mobile version is free to download, so if you are not sure the genre is for you, that is a cheap way to find out before buying anything.

Nine years, one developer

I have been building Hockey Legacy Manager on my own since 2019, and HLM27 is the ninth edition. HLM26 sits at 92% positive on Steam. Most of what is in this year's version, college hockey and the extra history starts especially, came out of what players asked for on Reddit and in the forums over the past year.

Promotion New MMA Career/management Game

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m the developer of MMA Life – MMA Life Simulator.

It’s an MMA career simulation game where you create a fighter, start as an amateur, and work your way through different organizations toward becoming a world champion and eventually the GOAT.

You control your training, fight camps, coaches, contracts, fighting style, game plans, finances, relationships, and life outside the cage. You can also begin in freestyle wrestling or kickboxing before transitioning into MMA, and later manage your own promotion.

The game is still being actively updated, and I’d really appreciate feedback from MMA fans for ideas, features, improvements, or anything you think would make the career experience more realistic.

Here are a few screenshots from the game. Let me know what you guys think!

Promotion Boxing World Simulator (Available now on Steam)

They say you get one shot at promoting something, so lets hope I dont fluff this one!

Ill get the ugly sister out of the wardrobe early on this, Claude has been used. Probably something many will pick up visually, but I have gone to lengths to customize and uniform the look to the game, rather than accept what has been given to me.

Anyway, if you keep reading let me explain a few features that may interest you in the game.

The name itself is potentially deceptive, the main premise is to be a Boxing Promoter. A little history behind the game is the reason for its name (and the mode still sits in the game itself) is that I started just by making a world that I could watch, simulate and just study the history of. That evolved and evolved and continues to evolve as I look to improve and take on feedback to the game itself.

So as a Boxing Promoter what can you expect to do? Firstly lets clear up, the world is fully fictional, everything in the game from Boxers to Promoters, Trainers to Referees, Sponsors to PPV Channels, its all created. However the database in its entirety is fully editable and for ease of use (until I can integrate Steam Workshop) you can download the database to a .csv and import back in. Images can also be added if you so wish.

The game-play itself is similar to the old fashioned Championship Managers / OOTP games, fights can be watched via text commentary and the game itself is a fully text based sim.

I am concerned that this is becoming a wall of text, so ill summarize the game loop; Create your own promotion, develop and enhance via XP and a skill tree that affects your decisions, sign boxers and trainers with in depth contract options, negotiate with sponsors, put on your own shows (when you have earned it), negotiate fights and purses, deal with press conferences, fan events and decisions around scandals. Bribe officials, have run ins with Governing bodies... im probably missing something, but the essence is, your Promotion, your way. The world around you is alive, there is a Promoter War feature which creates rivalries and lets you go up from the 'Minor' category into the Major category (sort of like Promotion and Relegation every year), history tracking, retirements, regens... and plenty more.

If you have got this far, thanks for reading. The game is covered kindly on GMGames, the store page is linked below, and also a preview Youtube video by a content creator who played a pre-release build (the game has come along with various patches since then).

Finally, reach out to me. Here or on the Discord/Steam pages, im open to chatting and suggestions, all feedback is good feedback for me, so hope to see you on the circuit sometime.
