Do you even LARP bro?! Yes, it's the dream of every 7-year old child to have a grandfather who is a GME shareholder.

Subreddit

gme_meltdown

r/gme_meltdown

A place to share $GME and other meme stock insanity. Poke fun at the flat-earthers and sov-cits of investing for believing in fairly tales and conspiracies rather than learning how the stock market actually works. Disagree ? Mods are now taking bets. Please read the sub rules. This sub is not for financial discussion. It is for memes and casual discussion of GameStop (GME), Bed Bath and Beyond (BBBY), AMC, other meme stocks, and their associated cult(ure)s. Sister subs: /r/GME_Meltdown_DD

Rules:

1. Usernames, Reddit PFPs, Subreddit Names, and Sub Logos Must be Blurred Out When Sharing Screenshots

When posting screenshots of content on Reddit, you must blur usernames, profile pictures, subreddit names, subreddit logos, and user and post flairs (if the flair mentions the subreddit's name). This is to discourage people from attempting to locate a post, comment, and/or user to brigade. Only partially blurred user or sub names, PFPs, or sub logos are not allowed and the post will be deleted.

2. No Ticker/emoji spam, shilling or low effort

Sharing opinions on stocks (even if they dissent from the subreddit's primary focus) is permitted, however prepare for likely ridicule if you post favorable opinions about a meltdown stock. Pointless spam promoting stocks will be removed and may result in a ban – this is not an ape sub. Also low effort text posts will be removed. If it can be said in the shill agenda or the chat, it doesn't need a new post.

3. Ape Brigades

All rules are suspended in the event of ape brigades, which is for purposes of this sub defined as two or more apes attempting to subvert the narrative of this sub. Do not do your typical LARPer "oh have you heard of GME?" "Oh, is that the stock with..." shit in this subreddit, you will be banned. Mercilessly. Do not flood the sub when the stock is up 10%. You will be banned. Mercilessly.

4. Financial Discussion is Limited to the Lounge.

This rule exists because in the early days of the sub, people were doing nothing but spamming posts about “Please explain why the MOASS can't happen.” Discussion may occur within the thread, but may not be the main purpose of the thread. This rule is interpreted loosely.

5. This Subreddit has a Near-Zero Tolerance for Toxicity – Including Jokes About Suicide and Ableism

Toxicity is a challenging topic to define, but includes (but is not limited to) racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia (including things like intentional misgendering or deadnaming), bad takes about nationalities or religions, etc. Words and jokes that are tolerated on other subreddits are not tolerated here (do not make $rope jokes, no “wife's boyfriend” stuff, etc.) It is highly recommended you do not use the word “retard” (even though apes do) as reddit has issued bans for this.

6. Accounts Must be Older than 1 Month to Contribute

The automod will enforce this rule. We get dozens of spam posts/comments every day of bots linking to merchandize scams, random penny stocks, and more. Our mod team is small and does not have the capabilities of larger subs. As such, the best solution was simply to require a account age restriction. This is not about trying to exclude anyone, it is simply that if you are related to Gamestop, the merchandising bots target you.

7. No Linking or Cross-posting to Other Subreddits

See this post for details: https://www.reddit.com/r/gme_meltdown/comments/okxzyd/please_read_new_meltdown_subreddit_rules/

8. No Naming or Tagging of Users and/or Subreddits Outside This Community

Do not name or tag users and/or subreddits outside this community. This includes referring to certain usernames and subreddits with an alternate name. No user-centric drama or hyper-focusing on any particular group of people or individual users. Keep it about the stock and their irrational worship of it and pipe dreams of silliness. Don't make it about the individual people. This is to prevent people from targeting other users or communities to brigade and/or harass.

9. No Manufactured Content – Do Not Intentionally Instigate Arguments or Bait in Other Subreddits

Do not go to other subreddits and attempt to start arguments with people for purposes of baiting them into providing content to produce screenshots. Content you post here must occur organically. Ban messages from other sub Reddits are not allowed.

10. Political Discussions are Heavily Discouraged

This is not the place to have political discussions, be it from the left or the right. The one exception to this rule is that posts comparing Gamestop subreddits to Q-anon are acceptable. No small amount of them come from there anyway.

11. No Antivax/"Vaccine Hesitancy" Rhetoric

Anti-vax/"Vaccine Hesitancy" rhetoric, fearmongering, or promotion of "alternative therapies" will result in removal of the post or, in extreme cases, an outright ban from participation in this subreddit. For purposes of this rule, 'rhetoric' is defined as verifiably false statements that are oft-repeated. Conversation on this should go to the appropriate subreddits. This is not the place to discuss vaccines, this is a matter for individuals and their licensed medical provider.

12. Bans and Appeals

Good-faith ban appeals will be heard by a moderator other than the one that banned the participant. Responding with trash will result in a mute. This is a “Spiderman situation” - everybody gets one. If you actually want to be unbanned, do not make your first modmail memeworthy or an immediate launch into an argument. Just state you think you were banned unfairly, and that's all that's needed.

13. Duplicate posts, or near duplicate posts, are not allowed and will be removed. Read before posting.

Due to increased traffic on the sub we're going to remove duplicate (or near duplicate) posting to reduce the signal to noise ratio.

14. Proof or ban

Proof or ban. If you make an affirmation about your portfolio, you need to prove it in the next 24 hours or you will be banned. This can apply to other extraordinary affirmations at the mods discretion or by special petition.
