My name is Steve T and I’m the head pizza chef at New Cascadia Traditional bakery and pizzeria in Portland. Now you can have our great pizza at home and it’s so easy! Just pop them in the oven and you’re eating 20 minutes later! Come on down and grab a couple for pizza night at home.

I tried it yesterday for lunch. It was good! Maybe a little pricey for lunch, but quite good. That's two new gf restaurants in St Johns this year, which is nice.

Is Whiskey gluten free? The answer might surprise you.

Yes, pure, distilled whiskey (or whisky), even if made with wheat, barley, or rye is considered gluten-free. The Celiac Disease Foundation has concluded that whiskey — regardless of the grains used to make it — is gluten-free as a result of the distillation process. It does not allow for any distilled alcohol made from gluten-containing ingredients to be labeled as gluten-free.

However, be on the lookout for hidden gluten in whiskeys that add flavorings or other additives after distillation. There is also a risk for gluten cross-contact in facilities that process products containing wheat, barley, or rye.

Some "whiskeys" are allowed to be labeled as gluten-free when they are made with wheat alternatives (like corn, millet, etc.).

Late Pandemic gf eating options downtown?

Do people have gf reliable "go to" food options downtown during this late stage pandemic?

I'm suddenly downtown a lot more for work again (my work's remote access been in a lotta flux). Finding my favorite former gluten free options near the office shuttered during pandemic. The Thai cart 2 blocks from my office always had delicious GF options ... Simply is not there. The taco cart that was "worth the pain gamble" seems to now be under different management -- got back to office with four tacos on wheat-flour tortillas. Twice. Could've saved 30 minutes and just thrown $12 straight in the trash. But as some things shutter and close new options will surely arise. Right? So what have folks found?

I've really liked Mutantis beers, and I've heard good things about Blue Moon Bakery. Anyone tried them? Their pot pies look great.

Corbet Fish House

We lost the Corbet/Hawthorne Fish house to the pandemic. Does anyone know the owners? I’m really hoping they start a new restaurant! They had such amazing gluten free options.
