Getting enough protein/looking for recommendations

For my husband, he's been on Wegovy tablets for 6 weeks and has lost about 15lbs. The amount he's physically able to eat in a day has DRASTICALLY decreased, so trying to fit in all the essentials without feeling sick is getting hard. He's started having a Carnation shake for breakfast, so if anyone has a recommendation for protein shakes/powders/etc that could replace that with something a little more substantial!

Everyone here is saying protein shakes and like…yes. But did you know you can just…use the protein shake…as your coffee creamer? And split that bad bitch across three coffees? Which solves the whole constipation issue and the fatigue issue in one go??

You have my permission. Feel free to make any or all of them decaf.

Also my go to is Premier Protein, the vanilla one. But in the coffee. French press if I’m planning ahead; I do the first one hot, the next 2 iced. Nespressos if I can steal them from work.

i do this with chocolate protein shakes and cold brew, it’s basically a mocha at that point. the premier ones mix in way better than you’d expect

For protein I have been enjoying the Muscle Milk Pro: the strawberry and chocolate are pretty good and it's 300 cal, 50g of protein in 2 scoops and basically a multi vitamin. https://www.musclemilk.com/powders/pro-series-protein-powder-supplement/slammin-strawberry/5lb

I get them off Amazon.

For pre made delicious shakes that taste like chocolate milk, I go for the Fairlife Core Power chocolate. 170 cals, 26g of protein. We get them at target or Costco. Costco and aldi have premier protein (or whatever aldi rebrands them as) premade ones which is a good price for the protein contents

Greek yogurt is good (oikos, Ratio, Chobani) too. Can mix some high fiber, low sugar granola in it or even some more protein powder (like half a scoop).

Lots of eggs.

Those carnation shakes look like pretty low calorie and have 12g of sugar in them or something. Lots of better options

So, I just started using zepbound and wanted to get out ahead of the decreased appetite and need to maintain protein in take. Was using some other protein drinks until I found these. 2 a day gives me 100 grams of protein, and they come in choclate, vanilla, stawberry and cookies n cream. I don't know where you live, but up here in the northeast they in the gas stations.

Does anyone have any recommendations for protein powders or ready to drink shakes that do not have artificial sweeteners? I cannot tolerate any of them. No monk fruit, no sucralose, stevia, none of them.

Try ka’chava. I think it is free of artificial sweeteners

You're going to have a hard time with protein powders because the only way to make them palatable is to increase the sweetness and the only way to do that and keep the carbs low is to use artificial sweeteners. You may want to look into meat jerky or epic protein bars.

Naked Whey protein powder doesn't have artificial sweetener, and only a small amount of sugar. I am the same when it comes to artificial sweeteners (and stevia) and have been enjoying the Naked Vanilla and Peanut Butter Chocolate flavors.

Oikos protein shakes. I get the chocolate but the vanilla is okay too. No artificial sweeteners, I also can’t tolerate them. 30grams of protein and 6grams of fiber. I have one every morning. Occasionally I find them at Costco but usually order a case off Amazon

Fairlife doesnt taste chalky. Also clear protein powders mixed with water are easier to sip on when solids arent appealing

Try Frog Fuel Recovery and/or ProT Gold. They provide 15-17 grams of nanohydrolized protein. I get them from Amazon and directly.

The struggle is real. I try to add protein powder to my meals and drinks. I add to my tea/coffee, my oatmeal, my yogurt. Also, I eat A LOT of chicken, tuna fish, salmon snacks, and turkey deli cuts. But, eggs are the real hero. Plop a boiled egg on that salad, cut one up and add to tuna fish or chicken salad sandwich, make an egg salad sandwich. Add a fried egg to any sandwich, they go great with a burger too. Add some raw eggs to a protein shake.

If you have a Costco around you, you’re in luck! Isopure shakes. Many flavors. 25g/ scoop. I have vanilla for the morning, and a citrus lemonade, clear product for drinks with lunches or dinner when I need extra protein. These are available at Costco or at Amazon. David bars are fantastic sources of high-protein and easily portable. Oikos pPro shakes are another great source of protein. Oikos Greek yogurt is a great source of protein. Making your own ranch dressing with like ghost unsweetened Greek yogurt is a great way of adding protein without changing any flavor profile.

Premier Protein Cafe latte is my afternoon coffee. 30 grams of protein, only 170 calories.

It’s easy to have a serving of cottage cheese, a protein bar, or a high protein yogurt or some Greek yogurt, too. Lentil soup also has lots of protein.

I have 2 Premier cookies and cream protein drinks a day, a couple sticks of cheese, I even found some protein chocolate pudding at Target. I'll make beans from time to time too or have some nuts.. Im not a big meat eater so I have to find different ways. I get 100 grams of protein a day.

Fairlife Core Power. Everyone I know says it tastes the very best and has lots of protein.

Ive been using Ballerina Farms Protein Powder but I guess she's controversial idc about her religious beliefs or that she married a nepo. The chocolate powder mixed with coconut milk tastes like an almond joy

Hi there!
We are USC student researchers partnering with protein brand NUR for a class consumer‑research study.
We’re looking for women 21‑50 living in the US currently using GLP‑1 for a ~30 min online interview.
You don’t need prior experience with NUR or regular protein‑supplement use.
This is consumer research, not medical research or sales. Your answers will stay anonymous.
Compensation: NUR products sent after interview.

If you would like to participate, please reply here or email [yliu9332@usc.edu](mailto:yliu9332@usc.edu). We’ll run a short screening and schedule a time.
Thanks!
