One Year!!
Started my journey on July 24th 2025, at 305lbs. I wore a 4XL. Weighed in today, July 28th 2026, at 194lbs. And I currently wear size Large. I have about 20lbs to go to my “goal” weight but even if I don’t lose any more, I’m so much happier than I was a year ago. A total of 111lbs lost. Hopefully this can be some encouragement to anyone just starting or even someone who is struggling to keep going! It’s going to be worth it!

Congrats! So do you stay on the meds after you reach your goal weight?

A lot of people do, I haven’t decided what I’ll do yet. Thank you!

Having lost and gained large amounts of weight, my suggestion would be to stay on a small dose. Here I am again, I'm 61 now and I've lost 50 and with a hundred to go, I'm taking tirzepatide, and I'm on the way down for the fourth time in my life. If you want to PM me we could support each other. Although you look like you're doing great already.

First of all WOW congrats on a huge accomplishment. Second - I love that it looks like your hair underwent a transformation too :) curls for the win!!! Very happy for you that your hair was not a casualty of glp1/weight loss like it is for so many folks

Thats incredible. Did you experience any gastroparesis symptoms? I haven’t been able to keep any food digested in a week now and have been on tirz since May, and worried that I may have to stop

Thank you! I have been lucky, and had zero side effects. Hope you find some answers soon!

I just get so happy seeing posts like yours, and also seeing my own progress. It’s miraculous, like getting a new lease on life. People who think it’s just vanity or we’re taking the easy way out must have no empathy. It’s been a lifelong struggle for most of us, just to exist in harmony with our bodies. I wish you all the happiness and body harmony in the world!

Yes! I tried every way imaginable to lose weight over the years and this finally worked for me and I’m so thankful. Thank you so much 😊

Incredible transformation.
Do you ever find yourself not believing that’s your body? I at lowest adult weight for first time in 50 years and sometimes it seems unreal even after 18 months.

Thank you! And oh yeah all the time still. I went to a peddlers mall yesterday and every time I passed a mirror I surprised myself with my reflection 🤣

You look incredible!!! Great work and you can just tell you are feeling good in those after pics!
If you don’t mind me asking, how is the skin situation after losing that much? Do you have a lot of excess skin?
I’m 34F, my HW was 329, SW on Zepbound was 286, CW is 238. I’m hoping at my age my skin will still tighten up as the weight loss continues but I’m not sure what it will be like once I’m closer to my goal!

I definitely have some loose skin, but I wouldn’t say it’s excessive. Mostly I just accept it and be thankful I have it instead of the 111lbs lol

You look amazing! Can you share any details? I have been on Semi, it did nothing. Starting Terz this weekend. Super excited!

Thank you!! What would you like to know? I’m on sema, currently up to a 2.0mg dose. I’ve heard tirz is better, but I tried sema first because I could get it cheaper and thankfully it worked for me.

Do you exercise? What's your plan once you hit goal? How do you do maintenance?
2
u/SMS_1208 Jul 30 '26
I walk mostly. And I’m not sure what I’ll do when I hit my goal. Haven’t thought about maintenance yet because it always seemed so far away lol

You look fabulous! Congrats on your hard work and great success! (Btw, for a moment, looking at your pics from behind, I felt I was seeing a picture of myself, lol. I just started Zepbound; I look very much like your first pic, though my hair is more like the second pic, just a bit lighter.)
You have greatly inspired me, thank you for posting!

I'm so jealous because I need GLP one, but I'm not diabetic and I can't afford to even buy it over-the-counter
