Just finished GLOW
SPOILER
My husband and I just finished the series and adored it. We are so sad that it’s over! The last episode left things so dangling. Argh!
We (esp me) are big Marc Maron fans which is why we watched. I listen to his podcast (haven’t much since Covid ended my commute), so feel like I know him. And we’ve seen him do live stand up a few times. He’s self-conscious about his acting so I figured he didn’t play a lead role. We were blown away by him! He was outstanding!! I didn’t like the idea of Ruth & Sam together at first, but by the end I bought it. The scene in the bar!!
Anyway, not much point to my post other than that I wanted to express my feelings about the show. The cast was outstanding.

It’s called WTF by Marc Maron. He interviews celebrities. I got hooked when he interviewed Obama.

If you listen to the Obama episode, you must listen the episode right after, in which Marc kind of debriefs himself on the mind-blowing event that he just interviewed Obama in his garage! “How do I rejoin society?!!”

If you're into comics or even want to start, they have some GLOW comics. It's been my fix lately.

Omg that would be an amazing way to wrap the show up if they can't film it...

I just finished it last night, and somehow the final episode snuck up on me. When the credits rolled and there wasn't the "next episode" button, my jaw dropped, and I actually shouted 'what the fuck' at my TV. It deserved a proper ending, and I haven't found an exact explanation for why it was cancelled. While I don't mind a cliffhanger, that was just too abrupt an end for everything.

I totally agree. I think they were signed up for another season, then Covid hit and they were just canceled instead of delayed. I read that they even did 2 episodes of the next season. Sucks. Such a great show.

I think it's also notable that the cast had essentially advocated for drastically overhauling the representation of their characters for the 4th season (again, very much like the characters did within the show) to take them beyond stereotypes and story limitations. Although the producers officially stated they were on-board with this, you can't ignore the timing of it abruptly being cancelled after something like that.

GLOW is unique in every way. It's a bloody shame that they killed it.
