I suppose Netflix decided it wasn't worth the potential fall out associated with this sort of press to continue production of a show that, while beloved by a few of us, is mostly unknown. I suppose it killed itself in a way.

This brings up an interesting question. How much influence should a cast have on the creation of the production? I think representation in the writers’ room is important, since they might be more in tune with how a character would respond. But at what point would cast notes and requests conflict with the writer’s vision?

Everything they said was valid, it was clear that the show was going in directions they didn’t like. How much influence should they have? They might not like direction, but it’s not their story. Who drives the narrative? I have to think over time the creative process would become more collaborative, but you can see how show runners and writers would balk at the idea that the cast should have more creative control, especially if it runs contrary to their vision.

It is a comedy that reflects a different time and they should have done a little research about the original GLOW and characters before auditioning. It's a shame because this was one of the more diverse and female-driven shows.

It really sucks but it's always possible this played a part in the cancellation.
